Post stumping the internet
i just saw an MS paint drawing of a pokemon saying mmm chocolate and was very happy that i can see just about anything on the internet

Image

anyway, got me thinking about those little things i've wanted to find but never could

2 things come to mind
-clips from this children's show 'sunshine factory.' there are VHS tapes out there that could in theory be bought and ripped though
-a version of dr. john's song 'new look' not ripped from national lampoon's european vacation

what ways have you stumped the internet?

one of my all time biggest stumps used to be info about this local tv channel from when i was a kid called WGGT. there was a dude on there named billy bob that talked to the cheapest puppet ever named junior prankster.

finally i found this thread earlier this year complete with WGGT photos!

I've been searching for a photograph of the inside of the mall in my hometown. In the late 80s/early 90s, there was an awesome volcano fountain in the middle of the main walkway (the water came from the top of the volcano, people could throw coins into it, etc.), but they ultimately paved over it to make an ugly kiosk area. Always wanted to find a photographic record of this.

More recently- and toy related- I can't seem to find a good reference photo of three "Scramble Egg" toys made by Bandai in the 80s. They are little chubby jets that transform into robots. Most photographs feature only the box or the plane mode.

I find it happens when I'm doing film research sometimes, especially on really rare old foreign stuff.

You might find an IMDB entry, but no other info.

Another thing is proof of the existence of the "bloodsucker" pen, a toy I had in the 80's which was a pen shaped like a bat with red ink visible in a clear tube in it's stomach. I know I had one, but I can't find any info or pictures of it.

Also, just last night I tried to find a recipe for Domino's Twisty Bread, the stuff they had before they changed their breadsticks a few years ago. They were so much better, and had this weird garlicy sauce that was green! Couldn't find a recipe anywhere.

that's not right though. that's just for the breadsticks.

trust me, I SCOURED. none of them out there are the right thing for the Twisty Bread.

I did find out that a Domino's in Juneau, AL apparently still sells the old style though.

Jack Mac and Rad Boy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMP9njfyX6U

This was a animated clip that I saw on Night Flight or MTV's Liquid Television (or both).
I looked for it on the web for years before finding it.

And
an ABC After School Special called
"The Winged Colt" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQIFcID8Zyk
which I finally found some info on : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365936/

Fun fact : My friend was manager of Dominos a few years back when they where making that bread. They got rid of the special "butty topping" because it was found to cause anal leakage. It base was a substance called "whirl".

I worked at Domino's. I'm all too familiar with Whirl, which was fucking gross.

The Twisty Bread didn't use Whirl, and was awesome. I miss it.

I'm pretty sure everything at Domino's causes anal leakage.

Jack Black x Will Ferrell I believe. I think a lot of SNL stuff gets yanked from Youtube, might be somewhere else though.

Jesus, I worked at a place once that used Whirl, and man, are you right. Just unbelievably disgusting, like sludgy liquid margarine. And it really stunk, if I recall correctly.

My stump from the internet is information about a song.
DJ Assault - Yo Wife
It was in a UK radio mix I heard once... a different Ghetto Tech DJ did a version as well.
I even emailed DJ Assault, and he said.. "uhh I dunno, I think it was on some UK comp."

I'd looked in vain for years for a PBS show I'd watched as a kid...then in the last couple of years it finally made it on to wikipedia.

I've been looking for the album cover for a Portland band from the early 90s so I can import it into iTunes. I can't find it and I've been too lazy to just scan the thing.
I did find a few mentions of the band, and there's a Myspace page for them. But no album artwork.

Oh, I have another one.
Those toys I had as a kid. They were space toys, all the little guys had magnets in the feet and helmets with movable visers, each vehicle had moving parts that were spring loaded and a lot of them fit together with magnets.. I don't remember what they were called! All I can ever find is other people complaining that they can't remember either.
