Well that was probably part of it, but I think it was mostly due to falling on my face Snowboarding and hyperextending my spine a few months ago, only 15 more months until it's fully healed though!

Count, I feel your pain! I royally screwed up my back taking a hip jump on my birthday a few years ago. I was snowboarding alone, so I ended up in a nightmare situation of being trapped at a local hospital, unable to drive, 120 miles form home, no wallet, no keys - in lots of pain. The guys at the resort took my boots off so I was sockless and shoeless as well. Then it started getting dark and the first gang victims started coming in - the hospital was in Riverside - then I stepped in a pool of piss where some kid had relieved himself in the waiting room. Then the bill for the ambulanace jouney came ($1500 !!!).

I stopped doing jumps after that, especailly as I was about the oldest person doing em at Mountain High anyway.

Oh man that sounds terrible.

Mine wasn't actually that bad, it really hurt when I did it, but after about 10 minutes of lying in the snow not able to move and barely able to breath I got myself together and snowboarded down to meet my friend at the bottom of the run, then went back up to snowboard down to the parking lot because it was faster than walking!

I went to the clinic the next day because I was feeling quite a bit of discomfort but they said I was just beeing a big pussy and there was no need for Xrays, so I just went to a chiropractor a couple times.

3 months later I'm still feeling it so I go to my real doctor and he sends me for Xrays, low and behold I fractured and chipped bone off of 2 vertabre and had broken a couple ribs as well!
