 2VintageMinisfromS7trip. Yow!! Update!
Note: 5/18/09. Added shot of other side of minis and shot of kanji closeup. Check the kanji that I can't read! Picked these up when I was out for the custom show. Fellow out-of-towners: if you make it to S7 do not, repeating do not, forget to check the 3 metal cabs along the back row. Do not let all that stuff distract you, somewhere in those cabs is the sweet stuff you thought no longer existed. I found these 2 just casually chillin' in there. I lost out on these things at least twice for each on YJA and there they were at a price that was less than the YJA bids and all the extra fees! Outstanding! What could go wrong? Hey y'all, watch this. Although numb with shock, I pulled the trigger. ¡Viva el S7! Got 'em today with rest of stuff. Best toy trip ever.

I was very un-otaku and busted him loose from his bag and header. Will try to get explanatory photos of type and header on later tonight. At the moment I gotta fly back to dog whisperer and garden grunt duties.

Although a different colorway, that robot is almost certainly IQ9 from Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers). Excellent find.

Looks like excellent finds indeed! I'm not huge into robots but that one looks like a keeper to me. A lot of detail in that feller. If I ever make it out to SF again, S7 is a must do.

Thanks JetJagger. Is there a translation difference between your IQ9 name and YR's Robot Analyzer name? REdYOdA wrote: The robot is from Space Battleship Yamato.

Good stuff you got there! Thanks RY! I thought that he might have been from that goofy robot series, whats-its-name. But the header even shows the Yamato. What was I thinking? And leadster, I've only been to SF once. I stayed right across from S7. Everything in that town is qualified by it's relation in direction and distance to S7. For me, it's the epicenter with a possible exception to be granted to the Asian Art Museum! Youse guyz is great! Thanks for info!

IQ9 was the Star Blazers (US) name, Analyzer Robot was the Yamato (Japan) name. Gotta love Popy sofubi. Oh, and the other guy is Magunedon from Ultraman Returns.

Thanks hillsy! Umm, is there any show or associated toy line that you *don't* have down cold? Awesome indeed. Now if I can find dvds for all these old shows (already given up on oghan bat, think it's just on YouTube and Flikr) I might be able to get familiar w/ more names as well as goof off and watch teevee.

Hah...hardly. I just Google well. There is a boot of the Sonny Chiba LA Ogon Bat that pops up on eBay once in a while. Definitely worth a watch. Sadly, it seems like the best hope for subbed/dubbed Toku goodness died when BCI had troubles. Still, it's even fun to watch these raw.

 Re: 2VintageMinisfromS7trip. Yow!! Update!
the popy is from the "kingsaurus " line . there is a very cool little book that has most of the characters in it . the line up is huge but the prices are resonable ( well , not the clears ) and most of the sculps are great .

Too bad I'm in the enforced leisure/ fixed income batallion this quarter, but I will find a way to snag these great, raw, old videos. (So far I envision selling a huge buttload of kaiju erasers, 12 at a time. Feh. Suggestions and freelance assassin offers welcome ). As long as I'm prolly going back to school, I might as well check on seeing if there's a class on J-pop and monster culture that I can take just to see if I can scam the write-off for getting this stuff. Heh. VintageVinyl; is there any title, publisher or ISBN associated with that book? And hillsy, I'm on ebay a lot, might as well start searching, and yeah I can put up with raw videos. They strengthen and build character. So, thanks for the tips, you guys rawk. What a great board!
