People used to think that I was making shit up when I would describe it. Just like when I talk about the show "I'm Telling". No one ever wants to believe that it was real.

I assumed everyone knew about Video Power, I didn't realize it was so unknown.

They're funny to watch now, because sometimes the host is so condescending to the kids when they don't find the thing. He's basically like "Ooooohhhhh, the rubber fish that you were looking for was right here under this fake palm tree the whole time you stupid 12 year old"

 Re: stumping the internet
I forever thought I was going insane when I could never find info or a video of a short clip that was on mtv in the late 80's. Anyone remember Stevie Washington? Finally this year I found practically the whole thing in one clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezgjoOjbnVI

 Re: stumping the internet
Got one! Looking for info on a kids coat hanger/toy bin set from the 80's (maybe 70's) They were white plastic with rainbow polka-dots. The coat hanger was a giraffe, the toy bin an elephant. Kinda vague typing in 'giraffe coat hanger' w/o a company or anything so I'm hoping someone here knows what I mean. I also have no pics.
I grew up w/a set and forgot about them until I saw a collection at Ragstock in Chicago. I went in to fetch my wife, saw them, freaked and asked if they were for sale, was denied due to them being the owners and none of the staff knew anything.

I can't find ANYTHING on the giraffe coat hanger though, argh!

 Re: stumping the internet
That Elephant Toybox is awesome.
A little known Missy Fact is that my first collection ever was elephants. I have nearly 1,000 of them in storage right now.
It started when I was a baby, and collected until I was about 15. The day I told my mom I didn't care about elephants anymore, she cried and refused to let me sell t hem. Its why I'm such a packrat to this day and always will be.

 Re: stumping the internet
Well I wrote the owner of the pic, they seem pretty up on their collection so I hope they still have it and can at least look at the bottom and find some company info, I'll share it here so you can hunt one down, too, missy. I remember always climbing inside of it and shutting the top. I also remember trying to climb up the giraffe coat rack and busting it because I was a fat kid. THE GIRAFFE! http://www.flickr.com/photos/snowflakes ... 471200972/ Contacting the owner now for, again, a hope at info!
