I thought black cats were bad luck

I guess, there's a bit of an irony here.

Wonder if it's true in Eastern culture.

I'm from the South East and this is what most of us believe: if you encounter a black cat--especially at night--you will experience bad luck.

Black Fortune cat might be a toy to counter the bad luck?? :D

I got one of the mini fortune cats back in Feb, and just picked up another. After the first I was like cool, I don't really need more. Now I realize I need more... so awesome!

Great colors! Love the lime green and the spray on the blank one.

:D I try not to count very often. I display them on tiered spice racks (sold at Target in kitchen section) and I do know how many a rack holds...and how many racks I have...but I try not to think about it. LOL. SDCC & Shinto was a new rack itself!

Great new colors! Very partial to the pea green myself.

It's been touched on by a several photos, but this years SDCC cats really are awesome! Especially all the Uamou cats. Everything she has colored with RxH have been far from disappointing!

Something interesting for the cat lovers...

Image

From what I can determine, this is probably a Meiji era ceramic Maneki Neko. Close to or more than 100 years old. It's small- only maybe 4" tall- and stylistically very different from the typical modern Neko that inspired the Fortune Cats (note the collar and bell instead of the bib).

Unfortunately, it doesn't belong to me. =^,^=
