I forget, but aren't the Japanese companies now using the new clear vinyl that isn't up to par with past clear vinyl??
Or are they switching over to the new clear vinyl later this year?

I heard that there's not much of a difference between the old and new.

Where did this "new clear vinyl" and "old clear vinyl" info come from?

Okay I had to dig around but found Luke's answer:

I also find it hard to believe that there is only one clear vinyl maker in all of Japan. If clear goes out, toy makers better start getting creative to replace that void :)

OK, I got the answer for this one today. This is kinda funny how this one got mixed up. It's kinda like the telephone game. The main toy making company's vinyl supplier did stop making clear vinyl so they started to carry a new clear vinyl. The big scare here was that the clear wasn't going to be as good. Long story short it is and all is well. Funny right?

When it comes to quality control, M1Go is one company you never have to worry about.

No change in clear vinyl. I think I have posted this about 10 times now. Maybe I should make a tweet about it. I am sure these will be amazing.

From Luke:

It's crazy the way Mori's mind works. I have learned so much in the few times we've talked. Everything has a reason. For example, Remember the big no clear anymore scare of 08? Well it kind of turned out to be true. There is still clear though it's different. The Japanese government made them switch to a product that had was less evil kill you shit in it. While that is wonderful it also make the clear not really clear. Or at least not real clear forever. So we all want our sweet clear figs but Mori doesn't want us to get burned like 5 years from now. Dude is fastidious.

BUT WAIT:

So all's good, are we clear?

Beams is alot of things but mainly a clothing manufacturer. They do alot of collab work with up and coming artists as well as established people too. They recently opened their art outlet called Tokyo CulturArt which focuses on Japanese artists only, and being that sofubi and kaiju are a Japanese art form if you will they are releasing these toys. You can fund alot more info about Beams on google.

Also, all these toys will be released over a period of three months, the first 5 will be at the end of June and do not include the Matangos.

Sorry for my bum translation guys

That's what I get for just skimming the article at the store instead of actually buying the magazine. Sorry for the confusion!!!!! (I was a little bummed myself because I really like the Matangos and the Hawaii Gezora too!)

Those Matangos win hard.

I have always liked that sculpt, but don't own any.

The first one is too 'classic,' for me, it looks like one of the older, opaque versions, just clear. The second one rules with the tinsel and such, especially showing through on the transparent orange chest. But the third one is just amazing with the ultra-neon colors. I would love to make that one my first (and I can't wait for some better photos!).

The tinsel/pipe cleaners/whatever bothered me at first.
Especially with the organic, bulbulous (for lack of a better word or non word) sculpt.
But now I'm seeing them as roots and plant-like innards.

still liking thost matangos, but looking closer at the last one posted,
it looks like it has aunt hilda's eyeshadow going on.
not sure whether to love it, or steer clear of its sloppy kisses

Poor Guilala, he never gets the love he deserves. But I am trying to make-up for that. :)

This M1 Guilala sculpt perfectly captures the campy feel of X from Outer Space, it's so easy to love! So psyched for a glow version.

What ad is that!? Gotta see this!

Also, gotta throw down with my own GID Guilala love.

I have the Marusan ST glowie, the blue glow US Toys mini, the X-Plus unpainted giant glowie, and the Sunguts Guilala/Takemajin mini glow set. This will be a fantastic addition!

Holy shit. Where does this air? I've never heard of the company. I don't have cable (or watch TV unless it's through Netflix, for that matter), but this is really cool.
