Roger, I can confirm that that was Carradine's general convention demeanor. Got the identical treatment from him here at a local show. Oh well.

Bangkok. Dangerous.

Totally agree.

However, if that's what you chose to do, (not to mention being paid to do) it shouldn't be that hard to muster up some enthusiasm for someone who's obviously a real fan, and not just some idiot. Otherwise, why be there? Stay in your fucking house and watch your own movies, if you think you're that important.

I've met tons of musicians, and most of them were very nice - even those you wouldn't expect: case in point, I met Mark E. Smith from the Fall outside the Continental Hyatt House in Hollywood; he's a notorious codger, but he was completely cool to me.

I think actors, in large part, get treated with such kid gloves that they start believing their own hype; a dangerous precedent no matter who you are.

Not being nice and friendly is one thing.
But being an ass is another.

fuck you twice, Mark Mothersbaugh...yeah, I said it.

in spite of the bad encounter, Roger, Carradine gave your friend a lot of enjoyment so that shouldn't change because of a crappy moment. as one can see from my avatar, my shitty encounters with Mr. M don't change how I feel about the dude's music.

people can be shitty. they die too...hope DC rests in peace.

The manner of his death was quite shocking. When I heard the details I thought of Michael Hutchence, (INXS) and maybe Carradine was doing some erotic asphyxiation that went bad. But in a closet? Maybe it is suicide.

Great actor but maybe not such a nice person. There's people like that. =/

Regarding celebrity encounters gone sour, the only one I can think of that was bad was Shannon Daugherty. She really is a female dog. (word filter) LOL

I just assumed that your avatar was someone's rendition of Warhol. Is it Mark's?

I helped Hank the Angry Drunk Dwarf get on a bus in Port Authority in NYC. He was standing there at the bottom of an escalator, looking dazed with a sprite bottle filled with vodka. it was an interesting time and he died several months later. RIP little souse.

RIP david carradine.

It's actually Booji Boy - Mothersbaugh's "alter ego" - he used to put on this insane little kid mask when they'd come out for encores; I remember seeing him sing "In Heaven" from Eraserhead with that thing on. It was also in the early DEVO films, where he sticks a fork in a toaster, if I recall correctly.

Sucks that he passed that way, wether he was a jerk or not. As far as brushes with greatness, I met Mick Foley when I worked for acclaim in the 90s before he really became an icon. The coolest dude ever. I dont get tongue tied and all i could say was c-c-c-c-c-c-c-cc-cc-cc-cact-t--t-t-t-t--t-us---j-j-j-j-j-j-j-jaack... epic moment

This story keeps getting darker.
Now- rope around the neck, rope around the nether regions... and hands tied behind his back?
Seems they are now looking into foul play.

Bad way to go.

I've seen medical journal articles that addressed accidental deaths like these. 'tis fucked up and fucking embarrassing. I don't want to die: having sex of any kind, wacking it, taking a dump, with an erection, butt naked, or in a ridiculous costume/clothing that I wouldn't normally wear.

How about this for one of the most professionally embarrassing deaths ever reported. The guy was a second year associate in an extremely prestigious Manhattan law firm (hardly a partner though):

http://www.nypost.com/seven/12042008/ne ... tm?&page=1

He died alone in a Philadelphia parking lot thinking his girlfriend was going to be murdered and he failed to protect her then his (extremely embarrassing) personal life was put up for wide scale public ridicule.

The NY Post could have just said he was her boyfriend (the Pennsylvania papers reported it that way) but the Post put up pictures of him posing in lip gloss with eyeliner and reporting his exploits as a cross dresser.

Their job is to sell papers though and its owned by Rupert Murdoch so to be expected.

On the subject of asshole celebs Roger Waters is sort of an extreme exception. That guy is incredibly nice and probably richer and more culturally influential than all those people combined (excluding Michael Jordan).

jeez--that is embarrassing. I like how they gave the entire world a picture of Maa's parents home in Long Island plus lots of other juicy info. If Krieg was her only stalker, I'm sure she has at least a few more in the works now. But who gives a shit, right?

i heard about the hands tied behind the back as well, and that the hotel is dragging their feet to release security videos.

Then I suggest you stop doing those things for the rest of your life. You never know when the grim reaper's gonna sneak up on you.

I want to die while posting to Skullbrain. From work.
