Marmit Vinyl Paradise list?
Is there any on-line site that has a compleate list of these figs? and just out of curiosity, what's the history of these wonderful figs? What lines to they make? I know the Big G and Ultraman, Mirrorman, Sentai teams, and Kenji K, have they done kikaida, a Black Horse would rock! can't forget Bull Kong...

Once upon a time, there was a Japanese toy site called Cool Japanese Toys...sadly, the original owner sold the URL and all the content went bye-bye.

The closest thing to a complete list of Marmit Vinyl Paradise figures can be found on clubtokyo.org, click on Articles, Charts, then Marmit Vinyl Paradise.
Or copy/paste this URL to your browser address line (you cannot hotlink to the site from another site).
http://www.clubtokyo.org/articles/chart ... ?catID=Art
The Marmit Vinyl Paradise line started in 1996 and ended in 1999 although various sculpts have been reissued in different vinyl and colors from time to time since including the San Diego and Chiller exclusives).
The VP series included most every Toho/Godzilla kaiju through the Showa series, all Daiei Gamera kaiju, and many more from Ultraman, Giant Robo, Space Giants and Captain Ultra. Pics of most all of them can be found in the magazines Hyper Hobby Dash 6 and Quanto #168 from 2002.
The VP line is no doubt my favorite as the rough hewn and retro styling harkens back to the old days of the Showa Godzilla flicks I grew up with. At last count, I have somewhere around 150 VP figures with just a few of my favorites shown here:
And I have a few extra MIB Marmit VP's still in inventory so please PM me off list if interested. (Meganuron, Anguirus & MechaGodzilla). I can arrange for pickup at G-Fest if you are going.

the parababies were the line that Marmit started up after they stopped Vinyl Paradise. they are much smaller. I will post a picture of some of my toys next to each other for comparison, but it will have to wait until tomorrow because I just got home from a day trip and I'm tired and should be in bed.

haha pretty much at this point.
when you live in a 1 BR cookie cutter apartment in a downtown high rise, it's pretty much all you can afford or fit in the door.

thanks. I'll take some pics of my other guys and post them later.
it's weird. I remember when marmit VPs were just coming out, and I was totally full on realistic Bandai guy then. I thought they looked too cartoonish and silly.
but just to show you how tastes can change, I have a few Bandai's anymore and LOVE marmits now, especially VP, and recently started collecting the line

A while back a japanese hobby mag ran a huge article on marmit.
Basically a checklist of all the Marmits VP's ever made including color variants and special ex editions. I'll see if I can dig it up, scan it and if you're interested I can email you the scans. It's a pretty useful thing to have if your into marmits VP's.

Ahhhh yes, this phenomena is known as "the Law of Kaiju Progression".
Usually a subject is first infected with the "realistic Kaiju" bug. The subject will suffer from an overwhelming need for Bandai, X-Plus, and Rocket Pro. Some of the more fortunate subjects remain in this early state of infection, although they may progress into the more virulent form "the Bandai Completeist". Others are not so furtunate, and fall victim to "the Law of Kaiju Progression". At first it may begin with a leaning towards the more "unusual" Bandais. A disco godzilla here, a final meltdown there, and before he knows it the subject is beyond hope.
Vinyls with garish colors and unrealistc sculpts, which at first seemed crude and silly to the subject will start to become irresistable, no matter how incredibly expensive. M-1Go, Marmit, Marusan, Charactics, Toygraph, and CCP, will all hold sway over the subject. A yellow Baragon, or even a blue spray glow in the dark Godzilla will begin to seem almost normal to the subject. At this point there is nothing that can be done, except to hope that the subject does not fall into the deepest depths of depravity...."the Vintage Kaiju Collector". A fate far too horrible and financially crippling to describe here, where the delicate eyes of children might peer.

I'm always actually interested in rarer characters.
I like how marmit and m-1 and the like will make plenty of godzillas, mothras, etc. but also make mysterians and dogoras and mandas as well
