Seems like cheating but the dye seriously make a great base coat, I like em.

that's a real nice job. this might be my favorite custom mightin. I like the touches of white here and there.

Yeah, I think the dye allows me to get a little more out of a SOLID figure than using just paint. If I could get SOLIDS in any color I wanted, I'd do that. But I can't, so dyeing them seems to be the next best thing.

RIT dye. It's really cheap, easy to find, and comes in a bunch of colors. More on the process later.

Used to use Rit for tie-dye t-shirts in the '70s.
