You're lucky you live near the costa mesa location. Doesn't seem like SD gets half of what the other store does. Thanks for the heads up...

Can someone please explain to me what is so punk about a $100 teeshirt? Well I guess the kids nowadays just dont know what it was like in the hardcore scene of the early 1800's.

is being a dipshit punk? cause if so blowing $100 on a shirt would be way punk.

whatever. I suppose it's safe to say we've all spent that much on a toy. to each their own, or some crap like that.

I was thinking the same thing. When we were on tour in the '80's we'd buy 3-packs of t-shirts from K-Mart, silkcreen 'em ourselves at campgrounds or motel rooms (hint - motel rooms aren't such a great idea) and sell them for $5 out of our van. The thought of paying more than $20 for a t-shirt ( no matter how well it's made) is pretty repugnant to me; however, I wouldn't spend more than $90 for sneakers (and even that seems like a lot) so what do I know?

Yeah I think $30 for a shirt is too much, but will pay it from time to time if I really like the shirt.

I would never pay $60 for a shirt, much less $100! CRAZY!

It must be punk to screw folks out of thier money!

apparently some people collect shoes. hey, at $100 + a pop, maybe there's a collectible t-shirt market too? if not, I'm sure someone with a hip name and a clever marketing scheme will be along shortly too fill the niche. maybe they'll make some toys to go along with their clothing.

Paying $100 for a t-shirt is just down right daft in my book. What, are they dipped in gold? I hear you get a little card with your purchase that reads "Yep, I'm the stupid fuck who just gave away $100 and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" Must be the difference between "Fashion" and "I just don't want to get a sunburn" but what do I know...

I pay what I want for shit I like..if I can get it cheaper even better..I like some BXH shirts so I have bought a few..nothing punk about it....I just liked the graphics and don't mind supporting a company I like..same as the 20 cent pieces of plastic I have paid ridiculous amounts for.....money means shit to me so I spend it and move on and make more..I buy 2 to 6 shirts a year so I rather spend a little more to get the ones I like

what I'm saying may sound a bit crazy but I don't lose sleep over it..when I have the cash I get it when I don't I appreciate the crap I have

anyone know what I'm saying??

I don't know if it is even considered legit punk at all aside from attitude and feel. However if 60 is what it costs for bxh to stay small, out of chain stores and running consistent so be it. Also its worth it just from the cool people I meet out just from wearing it, when someone is like WHOA bounty hunter! and not "is that like dog?" you know they are going to be pretty cool.

I think BxH is an awesome company, you can clearly see the influence of the sex pistols style punk he was exposed too, probably where the fashion punk comes from, and the tie in of every product under the sun slapped with your toy brand, just like the eighties toys. All he needs is some cartoons. The strength in Hikaru's brand is undeniable, through his exposures it was built on established and proven marketing strategies and that seems to be working out for him. Mclaren and Westwood's influence on punk isn't any less just because they owned sex and sold over priced fashion punk to the masses. You can't be punk and turn a buck?

As for comm I like the SD store, they get good stuff and sometimes it stays around at retail for months after OC sells out. Like the bxh mug set for instance or supreme boxing gloves. Besides everything else over priced bootleggy tees are awesome, I guess I'm just a sucker for stuff like this though

Punk is dead...

for 30+ year old men

Bounty hunter is a fashion labels run by a punk dude. Does that mean that everything he makes IS punk. Nah. Does it have punk influence. Yes 100%. 2 totally different things though. I feel the same way about many companies. The older punk gets the more punk kids become successful and the more it permeates "mainstream" culture. People making movies, clothes, toys, can openers what have you. Just my 2 cents.

Ive seen some late 80s rev band shirts go for twice this privately. Those same people think the toys I buy for 60 bucks are ridiculous. It's all relative I guess.
That samhain shirt is awesome but they have def made the exact same shirt with the exact design since then.

The thing about "punk" in Japan is its mostly an image bought off the shelf. Same with goth, metal, etc. You see a lot of people, including a few toy store owners, dressing the part, getting their hair done, etc. But it's usually a crispy clean uniform, an image they're cultivating, not a lifestyle.

I used to get freaked out walking into a store like Secret base, BxH (SB's owner), TWIM, etc. and seeing people dressed head to toe in the store's clothing. But you see it so often it stops phasing you.

i've been offered hundreds for my OG chain of strength shirt. its tempting, but the shirt is cooler than money.

All my really cool t-shirts I don't wear, they just hang in my closet. I'm afraid to stain them or get them dirty. With the silkscreens I almost see them as posters more than t-shirts. I think they should be framed up and displayed like an autographed football jersey.
All the t-shirts I wear out our probably 15 bucks or less.

Same here, I have original and unworn Necros, CFA, Schism, Bad Brains (1st tour shirt,) etc... I value these more than my records (and toys for that matter) and will never sell them (although I have been open to a trade or two)
