Well said Sanjeev...and I agree 100% I received my MTclub Drazoran yesterday...it's awesome and bigger than expected, I love the sculpt, though the milky clear vinyl with glitter is usually not my gig...I prefer paint, but I still do like it a lot. I will search out the Goto version because that is really the version I would love to own...for one it's painted by Goto san, and two...I think this sculpt honors the vintage style and needs a vintage colorway.

Yeas, this toy looks even better in person. I really wanted to pick one up at Super Fest last week but I didnt have the extra money, I kept going back and looking at them until they were gone. It has a great Bullmark Baragon feel to it that I really love.

Maybe I am mistaken, but I think Mr. Goto has been painting subsequent releases as well. One of the second set of blues has a color scheme that references the B-Club Black King, and I dig it a lot.

I'd hate to see 100 guys showing off ltd runs of 10 which had happened before. (not in that exact figure, excuse the exaggeration) @RedYoda- I share your exact sentiments. And I've been kicking myself for not being more aggressive in seeking out the first version.

Wow, the Max Toy version is much heavier than the original. Mark wasn't kidding about thicker vinyl.

Nothing beats a vinyl that you can whack a burglar with. Drazoran is moving up the list real fast!

Re: New Dream Rocket original- Kyumaras
Anybody notice this guy at the Dream Rocket table at Superfestival?? According to Yajima its an older figure that he hasn't released in while. Same proportions and size as the Kyumaras and the 2 look great together. Don't think these were for sale on the day..

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
Yeah, that is an older figure- Gilmos. Mr. Yajima sold a handful of one-off paints that day (all gone). It looks like Dead Prez bought a couple...

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
Gilmos is SMOKING!! Next to Balbagon, it's my favorite DR sculpt.
Anyway, I wonder what this means for MaxToy figures: will they all be done by Dream Rocket now? I assume Drazoran will be made in FAR fewer numbers than the previous Chinese releases (so we *won't* be able to see them in comic book stores and whatnot...).

I hope Mark just keeps the status quo...I love the regular MTC releases...they are top quality, affordable, and easy to get! Seeing Mark do the occasional collab just adds to the Max Toy collecting fun! He's got a really good thing going right now...His own Chinese factory lines, actual Japanese production collabs, one offs, MTC created shows, and expanding his lines/characters into other arts such as fiberglass, ceramic, plush etc. He's got a book coming too! Mark is really making more and more people aware of this art form...in all it's guises.

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
I am joining the rank of Drazoran lovers ! This monster is simply amazing. I was not too much attracted by Godzilla-lizard type spin-offs but I must say Drazoran changed my mind.
It is so massive ! The sculpt is top grade and I already liked the first blue & silver version a lot, but those MTC exclusives are even better !

These may already be sold out, but they look pretty cool (painted on the clear glitter base): I have a pet that drinks pink ink.

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
I just saw the clear glitter drazoran a few weeks ago. It's cool (everyone at work called it Godzilla) but there's a couple of things that bother me.
1. the knees...what's with the suction cup knees? they don't seem to work with the rest of it. maybe if it had horns instead of suctions, that might be better.
2. is drazoran on a diet? i kind of think of draz as a female because of the coke bottle figure it has...and draz is also very slim (look at it from the front)
aside from those, it's a pretty cool monster.

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
I'm surprised MTC doesn't get more discussion here... Mark's stuff is what got me to bridge the gap between vintage vinyl and modern vinyl. I love my clear glittery Drazoran, even if it is a shelf hog with that tail, and I hope I get the new pink one, as my mom loves the color

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
I saw this in person the other day, and having painted it on the clear vinyl with sparkles creates a beautiful look that you cannot see in the previously offered unpainted ones. It looks almost like a pink snowglobe after shaking. _______________________________________________ geotaro wrote: These may already be sold out, but they look pretty cool (painted on the clear glitter base): I have a pet that drinks pink ink.

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
I think they designed this one with the left overs of the clear with glitter Club registration version.
Quite nice and very different from the previous version.

I was looking at Mark's blog and the artwork for Drazoran by both Mark and Dream Rocket had smooth knees. Meaning that this was added on in the sculpting process. Wonder why. gatchabert wrote: 2. is drazoran on a diet? i kind of think of draz as a female because of the coke bottle figure it has...and draz is also very slim (look at it from the front)
aside from those, it's a pretty cool monster. There are vintage toys that have a similarly slim front profile and wide side profile; the Marusan originals come to mind. This is part of the 'pseudo-vintage' aesthetic of Drazoran, in my eyes. Hmm, never considered that Drazoran might be a she...

Re: New Dream Rocket & Max Toy discussion
Dream Rocket's blog reports two new items for Wonderfestival next month:
- Neo-Eyezon (11 cm winged version of Mark's character). This was previewed at Kaiju Comrades. - Girozun. New Akakage kaiju sculpt. I think this was supposed to have been earlier this year, but was delayed.
Pictures coming soon...
