Hi all,
This is my first kaiju custom, but not a full paint hob as I'm still waiting for some parts for my airbrush setup. I got this guy in the mail the other day, and while I loved the green sprays on the purple vinyl, the flat silver and red teeth, claws, and eye were a little bland for me. I went in with acrylics and a brush and redid all the teeth and claws as natural bone, with a bunch of layers to get a natural texture on them. I added some cavities and ick to the teeth and claws as well. I then used some reddish colors to blend in the areas where the teeth and claws sprout from, around the eye, as well as redoing the lips, and filling in what I decided were gills on the front of the monster. I painted the eye using an image online for reference, and did all of the iris colors with a fine brush. I also added some slobber and blood to the mouth like he just finished off a victim! I'm still debating repainting the back fins as well, which are just a flat red spray right now.

I like the detailing on this figure. The blood works in the mouth. Usually I hate random blood covered toys, but I think you showed some good restraint on your drips comind down from that mouth/fanged-anus.

Thanks... it can be tough finding a balance with effects like blood, but I did want to err on the conservative side for this, glad that came through.
