Post Gargamel x Bwana x Super 7 - Steven the Bat
Has this been discussed and I missed it? I really like this guy, actually much more than the first Steven. He almost looks like a flying squirrel.
From VinylPulse
Produced by Super7, designed by Bwana Spoons, and sculpted by Gargamel, they bring to you the new Steven The Bat. Spied on Bwana’s Flickr, he gives us some awesome pics of his latest creation. Since the first Steven The Bat released was GID, he decided it was proper to do the same thing for the new Steven. He also shows off the colorways from the WTF tour, which include Grass Hut, Big apple, Schmancy, and London/Paris. Don’t forget that Bwana Spoons is having an exhibit this Friday, July 10th at Schmancy in Seattle from 6-9PM.

I'm liking the kaiju spray as a contrast to the Le merde masked paint apps!

I like it because it kinda looks like a Boston Terrier in a dress.

I think these guys look awesome, and do Steven the Bat from all of Bwana's paintings more justice than the first line, although i love those too. I have ordered the first 2 WTF Steven's and I'm going to try and snag every one of them.

Will these be different than what Bwana is bringing? are they WTF tour Steven's or completely different color ways??

I think they all look great, but I gotta say the Big Apple version looks the best imo. Just curious, why is this in the Gargamel forum?

Yea, but ultimately the Monster Factory series is by Super7 x the Artist.

:D Yup, I'd love to see one painted up like my dog too!

Okay, this might seriously have to go down. It reminds me so much of a Boston now that it was mentioned. LASH if a unpainted version shows up I'm coming your way!

Yes it was sculpted by Kiyoka but was not a collab. In the sense that Kiyoka sculpts a lot of toys for many people. Just like the skullwing is not gargamelXSBXpushead. Same difference. wut?

A sweet surprise for me to know that Kiyoka sculpted the Wing---damn, is there a thread somewhere discussing the people behind who sculpted what? I would be very much interested.

I can't think of one. For a lot of stuff, it's just mentioned here and there, on the board, in an old issue of S7, but I don't think a full thread.

I hope the mook includes something about the "sculptors"---aside from the paint job, sculpting is one major process in getting our toys made that needs emphasis too. I don't know if fellow boardies are interested enough, but I am.

Thanks to the fine curators at Schmancy, I was able to nab their version long-distance. I love the purple tones, which is why I was gunning for it. Can't wait to see it when I get back to Portland!

Kiyoka also sculpted the Skullbrain and Damaged Brain, both of which were designed by Chanmen.

Believe me, you would be surprised at how many other popular toys have been sculpted/designed by Gargamel. They really are THAT good.
