Post Big Pollard Production Checklist...
hi everyone,

i was wondering if someone can help me compile or check this list to make sure i have a comprehensive list of all the Big Pollards that were produced (hand-paints & etc not included)

- hot (solid orange) (30 unpainted. but technically 60 since the other 30 were customized by Tim)
- cold (solid blue) (30 unpainted. but technically 60 since the other 30 were customized by Tim)
- vermillion brothers #1 (250)
- vermillion brothers #2 (250)
- gargamel GID (100)
- virus GID (25)
- helio GID (100)
- rainbow army clear (60)
- rainbow army blue (60)
- rainbow army red (60)
- rainbow army yellow (60)
- black (25)
- Yellow Father ver. Paradise Toy exclusive (100)
- Big Pink Pollard (70) "Note: This is the last factory painted version of this toy that will ever be produced."

these are the only ones that come to mind at the moment. if there are any others, please feel free to add them. also, if anyone can add or confirm their production run sizes, that'd be awesome too.

thanks for any and all the help!

Were there really 250 of each vermillion brother? I have no idea I'm just asking. All the other numbers are correct. This thread makes me debate getting the Yellow Father Pollard even more.

I thought there were 300 each of the Vermillion Brothers. That list looks pretty complete with the new yellow Father.

Post Re: Big Pollard Production Checklist...
awesome, thanks guys. i can't believe i forgot the big yellow guy. i've edited and added him to the list. as far as the vermillion brothers numbers go, i was confused at first too. cause i've seen some retailers list them as limited to 100. but today, i was browsing the flopdoodle site and it listed them as 250.

http://www.flopdoodle.com/Merchant2/mer ... ode=Bispop

(it's a general listing of many dates, so you'll have to use the find function or scroll down to see the vermillion brother's numbers)

"FYI: in the coming months the first two factory painted versions of Big Pollard will be released. They are both made from vermillion colored vinyl, but have different paint jobs. They will each be limited to editions of 250. Here's a picture:"

now that i have a better idea of the complete list, it might be a costly hunt to get a few of these guys. particularly the virus and hot & cold ones.

thanks again guys, feel free to chime in with any other awesome pollard info. always a pleasure! :D

I honestly can't say I've seen a big pollard that isn't the color of ne of the production runs, even on all the customs out there. As for small pollards they have tons of prototypes in a variety of colors.

I wouldn't call it "tons" :)

From Issue 9 of Super 7 Magazine:

"Blank Figures (6 each) made for Tim to experiment with: red, lt. blue, navy blue, glow, yellow, purple, green"

If you subtract the production colors (red, glow, yellow) then there are a total of 24 prototypes.

As for big Pollards, the first series of 20 painted Pollards that Tim released at SDCC were done on Black Prototype figures. They're slightly larger than the rest of them.

Jordan23: Thanks for the info. Do you know where I can get a handpainted black prototype Pollard? Is the base a solid black similar to the recently released black Pollards?

I just got my black Pollard from Flopdoodle, it was signed and numbered by Tim but the silver paint marker did not dry and was all smudged when I got it. I had to wipe that part out clean since it was rather unsightly. Now I'm wondering if I should I have left it as it was. What do you think?

Maybe "tons" was the wrong word. I meant there seemed to be a good variety of prototypes that weren't the same color as production runs. Thanks for the info Jordan23.

I wish Tim would always use pens that are compatible with the vinyl. I have a number of signed figures going back to some of the earlier [expletive deleted] figures, and he often used oil-based pens that will never "dry" on vinyl. It's tough to know what to do. I just don't ever handle them. It takes away somewhat from the enjoyment of having the figure in the first place. I spoke to him about this at a signing once. I had brought my own water-based pens and showed him the difference. He seemed to understand the problem, but apparently hasn't consistently changed his practice.

If you write to him via Flopdoodle, he may be willing to resign the figure for you, perhaps using the correct kind of pen that WILL dry (waterbased ink). In that case, you could just remove all of the current silver and have it redone. Take a pic first to record your number, etc.

Good luck!

the folks at flopdoodle definitely work to fix things for you. some of the qc on the callis was spotty and mine was replaced without a question.

hit them up. the worst they can say is no (and i doubt they would say that!)

I did erase all the smudged silver paint on the black vinyl and I actually prefer an unsigned figure so I wrote Flopdoodle asking if they can just send me a signed and numbered (9 of 25) card to accompany the figure instead.

I know of a few that changed hands privately but I haven't seen one publicly in a long time. These came out when the fan base was mostly long time, die hard fans and they were sold by lottery...so I'm guessing you will rarely see these come up. But when one does, move fast.

Yes, they are black based figures.

This is for people debating over the new yellow Pollard:

The Yellow Father Pollard looks so great in person, I recommend it if you like any of the pollards. The orange and blue/green sprays blend in really smoothly into the yellow. The pictures show the orange much redder and it is almost a true/saturated orange. The blue is a deep minty blue/green and the yellow isn't fully saturated. As a production run it's at the top.

Almost has a kinda retro 50s vibe to it with the colour palette.

The pink is an amazing color, highly recommend it. Every time I go to Switcheroo I drool over the unpainted 1 Amanda Visell has sitting on her collection shelf.
