With the right paintscheme, this guy really works. I love the slime trail bottom... no legs for this zombie monster!

The lobster claw is a nice touch.

This is totally escaping me. It's not endearingly crude, it's just crude. And, considering that the paint jobs seem so random and unfocused, why on Earth would we need 13 (!) of them at once. I love the original Blobpus sculpt, and some of the others to an extent, but this just looks like hackwork. Of course I feel pretty much the same way about the Bemon, which everyone seems to love, so take that as you will.

D-8 - Detail on the eye gives it personality

Those things would come alive in the middle of the night, kill you and pull the arms of all of your other toys. Creepy.

Still love D10. I wish I could get my hands on it.

we never stood a chance

A couple of interesting things about this figure:

Most of the Blob figures were sculpted by a prototyper, not Kaji-san (Mr. Blobpus). The Diablo sculpt was also by a prototyper, and even Kaji-san has said there are parts of that he's not really happy with (mainly the same parts guys on here don't dig: the goofy hand, the static pose). But once you've dropped a few grand on the prototype sometimes there's not much you can do, right? This one, however, was sculpted by Kaji-san himself, and it really is a great sculpt. I've seen the original prototype and the amount of detail he fit in such a small figure (these guys are about 4" or so high) is really impressive.

There is a LOT going on in the sculpt, though, and with the HPs I think its easy for it all to just blend together. For the guys who are already losing hope on the new little guy, wait till you either see one in person or see some better pictures. If you dug the collab Diablos I think you'll really like this.

Is it my favorite Blobpus figure personally? Not really. I still like the Docross and Dokugan and the DXes better myself. But its definitely a well-made figure, and I think it will grow on you.

I think this figure is awesome. The tease pics didn't do it for me but the real photos....whoah! This might be the best Blobpus as far as I am concerned. Seems very Lovecraftian which is what drew me to blob to begin with. Are they really sold out? Not going to be available at SDCC? sheeit..

The first 13 customs are sold out. The regular edition (for Japan as well as SDCC) haven't been released yet.

And if you ever think something from Blobpus is Lovecraftian, its probably on purpose. Kaji-san is a big Lovecraft fan. Try to spot the reference on this new one to one of the best minor creature movies ever!

For anyone interested in the Dead Stockers there are a bunch of images here that should give you a really good idea about the sculpt. I still don't like it but these were really helpful in finally figuring out what the hell this thing actually looked like.

He lost me with the Diablo and this sculpt...

Same here. I was sort of excited about this figure after seeing all the HP's but the purple one at TT just didn't grab me.
