 Re: suicidal tendencies newbie
I would start with the first album.
I have to dig get around my CDs but I think I have an Infectious Grooves somewhere and, if my memory is correct, some songs sound very Suicidal (on the metal end).

 Re: suicidal tendencies newbie
infectious grooves were okay in junior high. i dug them then, but don't think much of them now. the groove family psycho album by IG is the one I had. I used to listen to this around the same time I listened to the Green Jelly album. both are youthful/immature but have some value.
Suicidal Tendencies have a bit more staying power and talent than IG.

 Re: suicidal tendencies newbie
Depends if you want hardcore or some of the greatest thrash metal ever played. I liked "suicidal for life" because he says 'mother fucker' a lot. Mike Muir is a poet. What's he doing now?

Like Scott said a compilation with any of these on it would give you a taste of each to see who you really like.

Ludichrist's Immaculate Deception was the shit. After that, they tried to be funny as Adrenalin O.D. and failed on all fronts.

Check out excel, the accused, d.r.i., c.o.c. and ludichrist couldn't have said it better myself... I'll try to rip the Excel Demo and upload it for you guys if anyone wants it. So much better than the first LP! [edit] ripping it now, should have it ready in a bit. Let me know if it's a forum no-no.
