 Re: 2 camo zags?
It had one bid, unless there was a retraction.
How large is Upland, CA? Only one board member comes to mind from that city.

I must be losing it. I could have sworn his handle was omerta20 but now it says actionfigure25. Bid history: 0 bids http://cgi.ebay.com/Gargamel-CAMO-ZAGOR ... 500wt_1182

 Re: 2 camo zags?
Weird. The name changed but the feedback items and items sold were exactly the same.

He changed his ID today. It shows his old name if you look closer at the seller info.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
I thought ebay used to have some sort of icon or something next to the user's handle signifying that the user had changed their handle in the last 30 days. Maybe they did away with that and I never noticed.

Now that auction has ended no bids. Wow someone seems nervous about selling it.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
It was omerta, because I remember that name, that's how I know it's a boardie and as I go through my selling/buying history on eBay I THINK I know who it is but I'm not 100% sure, but almost.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
The Zag that's still up is numbered 11/30 and I thought the other auction mentioned what number it was as well. It would be interesting to see whether it surfaces in the future. Did anyone notice the number by any chance?
I hope the seller fucking chokes on it.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
He should just hand it over to Super7 and then they'll have 3 to offer to the many people that actually want it for their collection. Of course I'll be trying to get it just to flip it, but hey what ya gonna do.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
The people who start the threads screaming about insane auction end prices make this type of thing very easy for the flippers. They create a roadmap of what to get in front of you to get and compete against you to buy. At least make them do some homework.
Assuming the other guy's not a board member they'd just need to see a thread about the early S7 Zag's end price at auction or any of the other "_______ craziness" threads with closed auction links and really high end prices.
Or people could just stop buying on the secondary market which isn't going to happen where there are collectors with disposable incomes who missed out and have no other options. Lots of Ebay threads these days and they maybe aren't doing anyone any favours but the seller.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
the extra shittiness about the one that is left is that it also has a reserve set. what? $500 isn't good enough?!

Where are the other 21? I mean 20 as one board member paid dearly for one on an auction site.... 15 of these were released in Japan at the Art Shocker event, which was lottery driven. To me that only leaves 5 left, which likely went to friends etc.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
I've already ranted about how crummy this is, but on the other hand, don't we all have the SAME bitchy rant every time we see something we want, but can't have? Like the Zollmen Maza that sold for 1K on YJA? Or perhaps the YJA Seller who wanted Y300,000 BIN for an Anraku Goga? Even folks--myself included--who resell customs; realistically, the custom could have gone to someone else who had been waiting for such. You know? Anyway, don't get me wrong, I get the gist of this thread.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
we should all put in $10 to buy this thing from the guy to a) put it up for raffle amongst all the people who contribute, and b) get the return address off the box. and i'm not saying go and beat the guy down. but knock on his door and snap a pic of him to hand out to all the kaiju and vinyl artists and vendors at conventions/shows and ask them not to sell to the guy. that way he can sit on his $500+ and know that it will be his last....

weak though. very weak. I agree with Krudler and everytime we all discuss hot toys, create hype etc it's bound to have an after effect on people who collect. But meh...I don't know what's up with what... and am terrible at speculation and second guessing. I don't even think I can connect the dots if I tried...much less solve Wheel of Fortune puzzles.

Nice idea. I used to think the same way, but at the end of the day, the flippers are the best customers (for the larger companies at least). The makers obviously know who they are- they are the ones who buy evrything you put out in multiples. Sometimes I think it's seen as a symbiotic rather than parasitic relationship. Maybe I'm just a bit jaded from standing in queues where the flippers repeatedly get the best toys only to throw them up for auction. smaller hobbyist companies can afford to be a little more choosy.

 Re: 2 camo zags?
This is a huge misunderstanding. Let me share this with everyone since you all feel the need to know my business....and judge me like you know me personally, Im going back to school and need money to pay for my classes and books. Upon purchasing the zag, i did not no that later on i would have to make the decision to sell off most of my collection or not going to school, i made the right decision in my eyes, i can always collect in the future but i am choosing something to better myself. As for flipping? I bought the zag for 300, 350 is not flipping i knew someone would bid and not use the buy it now..... the other guy that has it for 500...that is flipping. I could care less what people are saying, they are only meaningless words to me. I was trying to get money to go school, not to buy other figures not to make a profit but to go to school to further my education. If people must know who did it then so be it, let them know i was selling it to go to school. who is everyone to judge me? for trying to sell my own property?.....and for a good reason. I will continue to paint even sculpt more figures...this is my passion, but my education is more important to me....this is all i have to say.
