 The Ugliest Little Alien
OK, so Hot Toys is actually HK, not Japan, but this seemed like the best place to post this. Just saw pictures of the new vinyl Big Chap... and wow. Is there something I'm just not getting with this one? Or is it really that ugly?

This is a super-deformed version of Marmit's rare 'B' Pose of the Alien from a scene in the film... Though now I am seeing it in a different way ...I still like it.

Weird. All the thoughts of pooping going on. My first thought was "pinching loaf" too.

 Re: The Ugliest Little Alien
huh - didn't know they were going into the VCD territory, but I say "bring it"! I actually like it and knew right away which scene that was from. any idea on cost? HT tends to be a bit $$$ even though you are paying for excellent quality. side-note: the Mars Attacks figures rule

Japanese retail is about $100, with some stores pre-selling them for about $75.
The Mars Attacks! figures were tight. When are we gonna see Dinosaurs Attack! toys? I want the dinosaur devil!

 Re: The Ugliest Little Alien
I dunno. I recognize that some character designs definitely benefit from the "super deformed" treatment, but I think it's often over-used. This is one of those cases, I think. I'd much rather have the Marmit 'B' Pose (whatever that means) than this toy. If you guys dig SD (and Japanese super robots), though, you should check out Fewture's upcoming "ES Gokin" line.

 Re: The Ugliest Little Alien
The hands on the knees definately make the pose look a lot more ummmm "dumpy" than the other sculpt where the hands are in front.
