 Re: Super7 Collection on Rotocasted
Entries really need some moderation/approval before entering the database.
There is no harmony in the categories, not to speak about redundant names or mispelled artists, companies, color description (mettalic silver pink... can this be a category ???)... In a few weeks there will be 1 000 000 keywords used in the database...
An exemplary contributive database is discogs (for music). The entry forms are very strict, but the database is not a pile of shit.
I am not being impressed nor seduced by this one...

 Re: Super7 Collection on Rotocasted
I think a moderation/approval process is not a bad idea, and just volunteered to help facilitate that if it's of interest. I like the site quite a bit, but as with all evolving "side-projecty" things, it can always benefit from feedback, so thanks.
It's cool, though, to be able to see who else got the Super7 Patty Powers by Arbito using Rotocasted. One's already made it to (or on the way to) France.
Anyway, give it time, and again, as someone else said, to affect the kind of changes you want in a community-driven site: join, upload, help, edit, etc.

 Re: Super7 Collection on Rotocasted
I'm fine with a database, I think it's great. Here's my problem with the i have this toy i want this toy buttons that connects you to who has it and who wants it, it seems like a way to try to find the highest bidder. If they'd lose that feature i'd probably up some shots.

 Re: Super7 Collection on Rotocasted
I think what gatchabert means is something like club tokyo where there is a database of all the toys released for each company... like a mook but online.
Didn't Super7 wanted to do that on their site?
I like this idea, since there are many toys out there that got released as secret or whatever and never saw the light of day (some members have tried to put yahoo pics on Flickr like bemons and other stuff you won't have a chance of owning)
The only thing that can't be done is to keep the photography the same of each figure...kind of what Joe has done to his own collection....and subsequently my own as well. I really like this type of cataloguing besides the collection shots or toys put into different settings and lighting.
