I've decided I really, really like this idea. geotaro wrote: The board should be some kind of a bloody gauntlet that has to be run by folks trying to start, maintain, or add to a collection.

I can understand maybe if you collected comics you'd be familiar with wizard or comic buyers guide. And I'm sure many other hobbies have some sort of price guide also. So I can let it slide, I understand why you ask. Everybody gets 1.

Next time I'll ask where the search function is... I was trying to be clear to the Fresh Meat. And search function is top right. Right next to the FAQ.

I think the board needs a 'Deja Vu' section.

While I agree that sometimes people who ask "stupid" questions get a harder time than they maybe should have, this I think is the main annoyance. The sorts of questions get asked on a monthly basis, if not more. Asking the question when you have been on here for more than 3 months shows that you haven't done any work at all. As I type "any work" i hear the elitist sound of that, but as Sanjeev said, not with toys as such, but I have been collecting for years, years before the internet made collecting easy and I will readily admit that it annoys me when all the work I put in in the 80s and 90s to get something, months, years even, can now be reduced to days or hours. (how's THAT for a run-on sentence!) It was work, dedication, and excitement to get a record or a comic I hadn't even heard let alone seen. Now, if I want a toy, a record or a movie and I can't find it fast enough, I get bored. I hate that. But I think that, for me at least, is what winds people up... that and the deja vu element. The Deja Vu section could be combined with the "I've been ripped off" section and the FAQ section

Yeah I feel the same. It had this Indiana Jones of collectible feeling that I loved (especially for my D&D books collection, magical !) Now it's more like Tron or Matrix...
