Fuck, let's get this thread back to 11 pages so Davidborne knows to buy this toy. If Davidborne doesn't unload them on Ebay for 300 bucks there's no way I'll ever score one.

 Re: Paranoia
I can't remember. Why aren't lottery sales allowed on the board? As long as a price is stated for an identified figure, the lottery just determines who gets to buy it.

I thought the rule referred to the bought ticket kind of lotteries that are prevalent on other boards. This wasn't one of those though, nor was it done for profit. Hope we can have our thread back soon!

I guess because they can be rigged and are open to prejudice and preference . . . plus S7 say so and it's their board, rules is rules!

 Re: Paranoia
The band formed in Sheffield in 1973 and experimented widely with sound creation and processing. These early experiments are documented on the triple album CD set Methodology (Mute 2002). They eventually turned to live performance. In one incident, Mallinder was hospitalised with a chipped backbone after the band had objects thrown at them. However the arrival of punk rock brought a more accepting audience for their industrial, electronic sound and they were championed by Sheffield punk fanzine Gunrubber edited by Paul Bower.
In 1978, Cabaret Voltaire signed to Rough Trade Records. With Rough Trade they released several acclaimed musically experimental singles and EPs, including Extended Play, "Nag Nag Nag" and "Three Mantras", and albums such as The Voice of America in 1980, and Red Mecca in 1981.

 Re: Paranoia
...and after "Red Mecca" not much was really worth listening to at all, as the remaining members constantly followed dance music trends, rendering their formerly unique sound a "keep up with the Jonses" myriad of copied styles that have generally dated very poorly, unlike their early work, which sounds radical to this day.
I only saw 'em once, at some gig with the DK's and Young Marble Giants many moons ago. Not much to look at but the sound was like nothing else on Earth.
The "NAG NAG NAG" video at YouTube is a pretty cool relic. I dig those pre-MTV videos. Nice and crude. DIY-stylie.
