I did a run of Dead Stockers for the Blobpus "The outsider and others" show.
I was already a very big fan of the sculpt and decided to give it some life and really try and bring out the details with a complex layered paint job to accentuate what i really dug about it. I hope it converts some people to enjoy it's creepy qualities.
It was a good challenge and i have faith in it.



These are available in Japan only so far, but no worries if you can't get, I'll be taking care of family eventually!

Well you certainly succeeded in capturing the details which is something that needs to be done with this figure. I was excited when this figure was first released with all the one offs then I looked at the purple one at Comic Con and lost a bit of interest. Now you have me all excited again. You've worked your magic and I will be looking forward to the "family" release. The colors on this one are awesome by the way. Is the little black and white drawing for the header?

I liked a few of the one-offs, but yea, the SDCC version got lost somewhere.

You did an amazing job on bringing out the details (the face is creepier than hell, and I never even noticed the little foot) and I would love to own this version.

Great illustration too! Is that being used somehow with the release? Header card? Anything?

Really funny about the eye.
They are vintage and were a real challenge to find.
I managed to get a lot of them and have some left.

I was wondering about the eye when I saw those little guys on Friday! Killer paint job, I love the way it brings out all the detail in the sculpt. I think with this figure there's just so much crammed into a little toy it can be easy for some of the finer points to get lost. Awesome job bringing those out!

God I need to find this Japan release. we really need to come up with a new word that describes your paints , awesome really just doesnt do it anymore.

Paul, I saw this on your blog yesterday and was floored. Your love of the creepy is on par with my own, and I no longer feel like a lone ship-at-sea. Between this and Veiny Baby, I only wonder what is mulling through your mind. Okay, so I don't get the references to the "one-offs" etc., and am curious what is the origin of this critter? Did you create it, or is it based on something you saw?

Stylistically on par w/ your best work! Love the colors and of course the flawless technique and, like everybody else, the addition of the creepy albino rabbit eye!!

This is how the Dead Stocker SHOULD be painted. So well designed ! I want one.

It's already been said, but this is a paint app that really brings out the detail in this sculpt witch seems to be all to easily lost.

Looks fantastic, definitely would like to score one of these.

The illustration is so much cooler than that sculpt imo.

Well I beg to differ, the purple SDCC is rad b/c it is mysterious and you have to look really hard to figure out what the hell is going on. Plus, the legs are GID, which I just found out the other night...

Yours is awesome and glad you paid respect to what IMHO is an awesome sculpt.
