Maybe I missed it, but hasn't anyone mentioned that the name itself is a hint at the original source? Isn't it an anagram for Marusan? Saruman = Marusan Except that the name is Sarumon with an "o"...but still.

Were the groupings above all painted by the same person? There's a consistency to them which makes me think so.
