 Kaneda RAH
I wouldn't normally post about RAH figures, but i think a lot of people here are probably fans of the Akira film. It's a regular release, so should be more than the 150 medicom dealt out all those years back. Release is March 2010, so maybe the wife will get me it as a birthday present? But then at ¥18,000 maybe she won't. found this elsewhere. I wonder if Kay and Tetsuo will follow?

Yup. This is really awesome. I'd be down for 180k for both.
Bike stickers included?

 Re: Kaneda RAH
I think those 2 smallest ones in your picture are the ones that come closest to Kaneda's likeness. I only sold mine because they are just too small to display properly I hope you're joking about that kubrick knockoff- that thing's a monstrosity!

 Re: Kaneda RAH
Those early production Medicom super rare Akira set are so fragile its not worth the purchase. So I just look at this pic now and then, sigh and move on.

 Re: Kaneda RAH
right on. I saw this up for preorder, but I'm kind of disappointed in the head sculpt. the hair looks all "feathered". I like the original Medicom sculpt better, but I'll probably just get this one anyway. If medicom does follow up with a bike, that would rule. I hope they make Kei.
EDIT: actually I take that back. I really don't like this head sculpt at all. I LOVE AKIRA though and I love the Kaneda character. I don't think this sculpt really captures the vibe of Kaneda much.
I hope Hot Toys makes one.

I hope they release these again as 12" RAH DX with loads of accessories. comon Medicom!!!!!

On the plus side, if you shop around you can probably score them both for 25% off retail since it doesn't look like they're shop exclusives. But then again, I just checked a couple of places online and they don't have the pre-orders up yet, so who knows?

However, there was a SICK Berserk statue at the Mandarake in Akihabara the other day that had me drooling more than a little. And at only a cool grand I could probably get by with only selling one of my kidneys!

 Re: Kaneda RAH
I preordered both the bike and figure. I saw that Kaneda comes with two head sculpts; one with goggles and messy hair and one normal one. the bike looks great.
gonna start saving now...I hope the quality is top-notch since their asking for a lot.
...and I hope they don't make any other Akira figures...! my wallet couldn't take it.
