I thought they were still playing? They played not that long ago.

In other Punk news:
I just found out yesterday that Jim quit Pennywise! Now I know there last few albums have tanked abit, but damn, they were my favorite punk group! I can't say I'm as old school as a lot of people here but Pennywise got me into punk back in 1993 when Unknown Road was first released. I am bummed about Jim leaving the group. They should just call it quits now and not look for a new lead singer... Just not PW without Jim!

Lagwagon fucking rules.

Actually all of Joey Cape's projects and sidebands are great: Bad Astronaut, his solo stuff, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes. And Lagwagon hasn't broken up, they are doing a mini-tour of Japan in December. They went on hiatus back in '00, but got back together again.

Joey is playing a solo show here in SD this month with Jon Snodgrass from Armchair Martian, I'm going to try to get over to the Casbah to check it out (barring any last minute work BS).

I saw Good Riddance's farewell show at the El Rey a couple years ago. They were one of the greats!

Yay for Lagwagon! Joey Cape has all the best melodies up his sleeve - "Trashed" is definitely one of my fave punk albums ever. This thread just made me dig it out again, listening right now. And hell yes, it's still one of the best!

I've seen Lagwagon a few times...good stuff.

Pennywise without Jim is...well...nothing.

Apparently Zoli from IGNITE is going to fill in for lead signer of pennywise at some upcoming shows. IGNITE was good when they were a hardcore band but Zoli's high voice is annoying.

I'm at least happy that the last Pennywise show I went to at the Fonda I sang on stage during bro hymn. What a fun night that was!

The fact that they are recruiting a fill-in singer for Jim is just ridiculous. When the singer/songwriter of your band quits, it's time to walk away.
