OutKast is contractually obligated to produce one more album. If it ever happens, hopefully it'll be better than Idlewild. That just wasn't a fitting end to their brilliant career.

all i can say is thank you. i seem to be in the minority that thinks what happen was funny. i could care less about taylor swift, to me 95% of stuff played on mtv is garbage and the reason this next generation is full of morons. besides that, this is probably the best thing that could happen to her, because now EVERYONE knows who she is.

i also think that kanye west is a genius. his initial blog post does show his true colors: a genuine fan of pop culture. he's probably the only one in the audience at these award shows nowadays that thinks these award shows should have integrity. ok, he is a nutcase... but if anyone has the right to mock these award shows, it would be him... because he's like, the only one who pushes the envelope of every music video nowadays.

and yeah, I agree with you: If he didn't do it, then people wouldn't talk about Mtvs video award show (I mean what's there to talk about? I thought Mtv only aired played-out, boring, shitty tv shows. I'm surprised that they still do the VMAs every year).

but if Mtv did put him up to it--or do something that they know he would openly object to as to go that far to shit on someone's moment, then Kanye and Mtv are soulmates--I mean they have great chemistry. It's funny--as much drama as Kanye starts you'd think that he'd have his own Mtv reality show by now. I think his bitchass-ness is only feeding the fire of lameness that is todays pop culture or whatever. So if he's fighting for integrity of pop culture award ceremonies he'd probaby be more effective if he just stayed home, shut up, and just made music. (and rapped over it instead of using the Johnny 5 autotune thing)

I think all of this is stupid, MTV goes with the current hot seller, this girl is selling well and has a future to market, Beyonce has been there and done it. MTV is just setting up the next new hot thing, her video could have been just her sitting in a black room with a flashlight and she would have won. It has NOTHING do to with videos, they don't even fucking play videos anymore.

I hate Kanye, I have to separate the man from the music to enjoy it what so ever. He is more of a gag of himself at this point. You knew he was gonna do something, its almost expected now as shown in the SNL clip rhino posted.

All of this is fucking stupid, its MTV for christ sake, their awards are a fucking joke and are worthless. Talk Grammy awards and then your talking.

When a musician makes it you will ALWAYS be title "The Grammy award winning ... " they don't do the same for "MTV music award winning".

You've got to be kidding me. This is like asking a bunch of 12-16 year olds if they would rather watch The Godfather or Crank.

The award show was fan voting. The demographic of MTV is probably 12-24 if that and I highly doubt most 24-30 year old sit around and vote online because they could care less.

Does kanye make great videos and music? Absolutely as do bands like radiohead and many directors who never get mentioned... but it really doesn't give him the right to go up and ruin a 19 year old's speech. Kanye is an adult who should know better and should realize that these awards are trivial and meaningless. If he doesn't get that..then there's something seriously wrong with him.

Anyway..I'm hedging my bets and will look forward to the Kanye West/Taylor Swift collaboration that's sure to come in 2010.
