 Re: futura in berlin
Wow I'm a Futura fan but those "pointmen" esque peices are weak as hell, really poor. Looks like they took all of 5 minutes to draw and probably cost a bomb.

 Re: futura in berlin
I've never really been a fan of Futura's Pointman paintings (I like the Pointman in regards to UNKLE, but not original art). I typically like his "atomic" paintings, but even those are pretty bad - the red one looks like garbage. The blue/green one would be a lot better without that figure and black box.

 Re: futura in berlin
I have alot of Pointman sculpts (Kubricks, the Nosferatus etc) and still love them. This work does nothing for me.

Yeah, I really like most Futura toys (other than that Umbrella set - WTF was that!?!). I'd still like to get all the RAH Pointment for a reasonable price someday, but doubt it'll happen.

 Re: futura in berlin
Always been a big fan of Futura ever since his earliest subway & wall pieces. Think he peaked with his MoWax / Unkle paintings. Sadly, recently all his stuff is looking the same and a little sloppy. Always wanted to own an original painting but these days… Mehh

 Re: futura in berlin
i think show was a big success - berlin was very thankful for futura coming to town. totally mixed attending crowd, from toy to sneaker collectors, hipsters, writers, curators and art collectors, was all in love with futura, stash and artorial krew who couldn’t have been more friendly & lodown. agree with 5 minute look of some canvases, didnt get most stuff from l.a. show also. to me downside of very dynamic concept to paint artwork on site prior to exhibition. whether in regards to classic drama with unity of time, place and action or not, it worked for both artist and locals who had a lot of fun hanging out and getting inspired by each other. seems like fotos don’t do justice …as usual. sketches are way bigger than it looks. a dozen completely different, but unbelievable charismatic pointman style characters were most desired and much talked about artwork of the evening. adding very detailed “dots” [some static looking others with a great flow as seen on canvases] as background to pointman characters gives these sketches such a great depth ...fxxking awesome!!! …never got boring checking these out over and over.

 Re: futura in berlin
WoW! I've enjoyed a lot of Futura's work in the past but this is disappointing. The Pointman sketches are lacking so much...nothing close the the depth of the "Never Never Land" paintings and some of his other work.
And the Nosferatus that 360 put out are classic! I unearth those once in a while and just gawk at 'em.
On a different front of his work, I have to say that I do enjoy visiting his site from time to time. It's design and U.I. experience, although frustrating at times, always intrigues me.

 Re: futura in berlin
Unfortunately, I think sometimes 'fame' overwhelms people and they lose their ability of self-criticism as they become surrounded by 'yes' people who heap praise upon them for anything they do.

 Re: futura in berlin
Just seems rushed....compare this to his previous 3 shows - LA, Dubai and London and the chasm in quality is clear. Even the atom paintings are getting weaker.

 Re: futura in berlin
I'm guessing it all sells for big $$$ though! From the looks of things he's concentrating more on travelling and photography than the painting . . . and good luck to him! Jealous . . . moi!
