From what I've seen around here, I think that would be unlikely. In the couple of years that I've been on Skullbrain, the only artist/toy designer who was a board regular, that I know of, was Kozik. 'Everyone' didn't jizz on their keyboards over his stuff. In fact, he caught so much negative flack that he no longer comes around.

Or it could've been his admission of just doing it for the money,
or the fact that the KR dream pack fiasco has now leaked over here re: pickles.

Sorry to bring this back up but I had a chance to see the Lil Mort in person yesterday and they are better in person. I do not really like the black and white colorway but am excited to hopefully get the MunkyKing exclusive colorway. Its clear skull, hands and feet with a clear grey/brownish colored cloak. It looks pretty bad ass... much better than the painted variation.

The clear one doesn't suck that hard, does it. Does it????

Just to set the record straight, here's the deal with Lil' Mort:

The image that the toy was based on is part of a larger painting called "La Petite Mort".



For those not in the know, la petite mort, or "The little death" is the way those crazy french folks describe orgasm. So dig, sex+ death=interesting subject for a painting. Lil' Mort was meant as a simplified cartoon abstract of the concept, hence the cartoony grim reaper, with a valentine heart on his chest, and using the universal hand gesture for the act of coitus.

(BTW, I generally agree with the sentiment that flipping the bird is pretty tired as a symbolic gesture of badassness, which is why I tend to avoid it in my work. In this context though, it made sense to use it.



As to the toy: Munky King had been talking to me about doing a toy, they liked the image, and we went with it. I think they did a great job of realizing a two-dimensional drawing in three dimensions, but as indicated by comments here, your own mileage may vary.

I'm sorry that I haven't made any bitchin' bullmark-style monster toys yet, believe me. I've been trying to do old-school Japanese vinyl since before there even was an art toy market (just look through my old sketchbooks for proof) - but nobody wants to make the damn things for me. I even tried to do Lil' Mort with a bag and header card, but Munky King said nobody would buy it if it wasn't in a fancy box.

Tell them bags and headers works fine here at S7. boxes are boring.
