It should become apparent to all that Mori has warmed to the idea of sanctioned custom runs as recent releases with Paul Kaiju, L'amour Supreme, Itokin Park, Shef and Skulltoys attest. In most of these instances Mori or I have asked the artists to be involved.

Thanks Don! I'm liking this new direction, if indeed it is a direction. Turning your creations over to other artists to customize can result in some exciting new ways of seeing a particular figure and in the end generating new found interests and excitement. Looking forward to other sanctioned customs, and collaborations for new ways of looking at old standards (upcoming L'amour/Onell Chaos head Phyden.) There is also what looks to be a fairly substantial sanctioned custom run of Mutant Zone lll figures coming up from DP. I see it as a win win situation for all of us.

Oh, got it. Ok, so, for further clarity, please be sure to send all RxH "rejects, paint tests and test shots" to me at:

1-10-11, Ebisunishi, Shibuya-ku
Tokyo, Japan 150-0021

I'll figure out what to do with 'em.

After reading the stories it makes sense on why he wouldn't want the regular releases painted, with all the trouble that goes into them and collectors that still need pieces or maybe future collectors down the road.

Also it makes sense to not want them sold because of the solid line, why should you make a huge markup on a figure. Yeah free market but it is more of a respect thing, he takes in consideration of his fan base, it should be mutual. Now we know, good battle though, cool info came out of it!

Are there other toy companies with this rule or is RxH the only one?

Nice reporting everyone, and glad this is an open conversation with many rxh collectors giving their opinions.

want to add that I hope there are more artist collaborations with RxH and some from fans too. Still blown away by shef's special :) it's always special to see special releases no matter what brand.
