I snagged a ticket w/preview a few days back . . . still gotta get spousal approval and am hoping some good Samaritan might hook-up an exhibitor pass, but with a full refund until a few weeks before the event I figured there was nuthin' to lose! . . . Crazy 'em selling out so soon!

there will be one at NYCC in october 2010.

we'll be at nycc next year, no dice on SDCC.

The way I look at it is, I did it once and it was fun. I'd rather leave it with good memories.

Seems like besides Gargamel and the S7 crew, that not many japanese companies end up there anyhow. I'd rather save my loot and make a trip to japan to a Superfestival or Wonderfest.

Last year Hiddy, Mori, the Gargamel gang, and even the Cure guys showed up! Great turn out!

I think I might do Thursday only, it's not worth it to go 4 days unless I can go Wed, I wouldn't even go all 4. Than I'll blow my nerd-wad at NYCC. Anyone going to SDCC wanna let me hobbo-style sleep on thier hotel floor for a few bucks or share a room or something? Otherwise I'm more about NYCC. Joe's party seems worth the trip west, but only 1 day of Con as far as I can swing.

Was there an actual reason NYCC was delayed 6 months? I had so much fun last year, and the February date worked much better with my academic schedule.

NYCC wanted to secure a slot that will be available every year...hence the move to the fall. They did not want to do 2 in one year (the Oct. slot wasn't available this year anyway), so there's a longer gap between them than usual.

I did snag a preview night ticket. And given how fast they went, you might want to book your hotel now, if you don't have a place to stay already lined up. Many of the hotels will also refund your money if you cancel 72 hours before.

I've never been to SDCC, so you guys and gals probably know about it better than I. I'm just sayin'

Us oldtimer's never book a hotel. We just wait till the last minute and crash in some newbie's room. How close did you say you were to the Convention Hall?

Single day tix went up the other day. I nabbed a Thursday ticket. Looks like Sat is going FAAAASST! I'd hate to go Sat, even if I lucked out and got a 4 day w/preview I wouldn't go Sat I think. Too much madness. Anyway, still really 50/50 on going but I'll just get a refund if I can't. I'm actually all about NYCC this year, I just haven't grabbed my pass yet.

No SDCC for me this year, due to me letting my fiancee pick our wedding date (I think she did that on purpose...)

For me if Mori and other Japanese toy dudes are there it'd be worth it to go to SDCC even just for 1 day. I'm hoping I can make it work.
