 Re: Mo' Buta
i got my woo in the mail yesterday and it looks even more amazing in person. what an awesome figure. and on a side note, he is best friends with Pipi. they live on the same shelf in my apartment. the mailman lives there too, but they aren't that close. i need more butanohana figures. have a few coming in the mail. feel like putting a "taking on all butanohana figures" thread in the want section.

Wow your Woo got along with Pipi? Mine didn't. He had to be separated and thrown on Woo shelf with the other Woo.

 Re: Mo' Buta
yeah, totally got along. Pipi was actually waiting for Woo to show up in the mail. as soon as woo got out of the bag they danced to Herbie Hancock's "Rocket" (woo's favorite song).

 Re: Mo' Buta
I was just drooling over a picture of the spaceman in the new Kia-Zine. Does anyone know how many versions were released? The one in the Kai-Zine article looks slightly different.

Maybe they were all painted differently?

 Re: Mo' Buta
I know of at least 4 paint variants for the Spaceman-dude - all the ones I've seen involve some combo of yellow, red and blue. The one from the Buta/Gargamel show looked like it was re-painted. Not 100% sure on that but that was my impression.

That spaceman is ace Tim! So does Butanohana actually make it? Was it a very early release? Do tell.....

 Re: Mo' Buta
I can't believe you own one Tim Such a nice sculpt and huge. I remember seeing one in the gargamelxbutanohana pics and it just towers over the rest. So I take it there are two versions (or more)??? The one in baiken's picture from the show has a yellow gun.

Holy freakin crap Tim, that is an amazing score! I recall seeing one on ebay around 1999, maybe 2000 when I was heavily into space toys, my impression was wtf is this thing?! I regrettably passed on it. Amazing feat in finding one!

I had no idea it was Butanohana, though I guess it makes sense as it was in his show. Those kanegons look great too, nice pickups Plover!

Wowie - Nice pickups Plover. I love the Buta Kanegons. They seem to have just enough character to make them distinctive among the many other versions.
If the Spaceman was released in '97 does that make it one of Buta's first toy releases? Just wondering where it lands in their chronology.

Now that would be something, I'd love to see the order of progression and everything he's released so far. Maybe one day the super(7)mook can take a crack at it.

The latest issue of Kai-Zine has a good spread on Butanohana and its history. Too bad it's all in Japanese.

True, but exciting enough! I just ordered from kt( or whatever they're calling themselves these days) and I snagged the new zine to go along with it, I'm looking forward to it with a renewed enthusiasm now!
