I took a glimpse since I loved the original serie and this was directed by a fellow countryman.
I think this will be the first serie I want to follow in years.

I caught the some of it last night. When the beautiful PR alien lizard lady was giving a press conference, she said the aliens were setting up free health centers everywhere. The interviewer asked, "Universal healthcare?"

also the "Obamania" parody element of it sounds awful / heavy-handed. I live in Chicago & can safely say that "Obamania" is a media fabrication.

Watched it last night, the first epp wasnt that bad, I liked it. So far so good, but its always hard to tell from the first epp, I'll give it 2 or 3 before I judge it.

And yes they are lizards like the original.

I have a small interest in the new series, I'll wait till it's gone a season in and if it sounds cool go back and watch, my usual TV MO. The original scared the crap out of me when I was a wee lad, ripping off faces is scary stuff.

One good reason to remake it would be to redo everything after the original miniseries... The first series was awesome, but The Final Battle and the weekly TV show were snore-city. Haven't seen this yet, but there's no way they'll ever top the awesome art direction from the original. Everything from the uniforms, to the shuttles, to the alien letters was basically perfect.

Actually, they could also maybe put the lizards on-screen a bit more. You didn't see them all that often in the original, which was kind of a bummer because they were so cool! I've still got an original 12" doll from LJN (I think) where you can pull off his face!

Been watching the "V" reruns on SyFy lately and it's just freaking hilarious. Like Plan 9 meets the The Love Boat meets Designing Women.

Special production values added like aliens with double chin, one knock on the head and aliens go down like sack of potatoes, cat fighting alien leaders that walk around in high heels and so on.

Yeah, the original shows were pretty silly in retrospect, but I still loved that shit when I was a kid! But like Ricky said, the original miniseries was pretty tight in terms of visual elements and whatnot. Not all that different from the original Battlestar Galactica, for instance...

I was hoping for a lot from this new series, but I only saw the first two or three episodes (terrible dialog). Does it suck as bad as most people say it does? I thought it just got canned after the first few episodes...

Yeah, the new series sucks. But it is still a watchable guilty pleasure. Can't wait for tonight.

It looks like they're billing this "season" as a new chapter, where it all hits the fan and gets exciting and shit. I wasn't as impressed with the revamp as I'd hoped, but I'll give the new episodes a shot.

I watched the first episode last season. It was not bad, but didn't hold my attention. It still doesn't look too bad though

at SDCC last year the Visitors had a booth with a bunch of hot lizard chicks passing out pamphlets however they wouldn't answer any questions about the show or anything like that as they were in character, it was amusing, i got a visitor button though.
