 Toys for Cancer Kids
Hey all,
I would like to donate a load of toys to the local chapter (in Portland) of the Candlelighters (for Children With Cancer). Basically, a toy or two are given to kids who are hospitalized and/or diagnosed with cancer during the holiday season. I know a lot of us keep out stuff in near mint condition, and there are always those items you try and sell, but they just don't move. If you have one or two items, and you'd like to donate, contact through a PM. I need to have things no later than the second week in December. You know how you feel when you open that box with a great new toy in it, right? Pass along the joy.
peace, Futureman

Japanese soft vinyl and most designer toys aren't intended for children.
I'd be down to donate some regular store bought toys though.

I'd be down to donate some regular store bought toys though. I understand some hold this as a scriptural truth. I do not. Without getting into a debate, the point is doing some compassionate good for these kids. Some store-boughts are just as good. If you are interested definitely let me know.

 Re: Toys for Cancer Kids
Thanks to everyone who expressed interest thus far.
To answer some questions, if you would like to donate something, it doesn't matter what sort of toy it happens to be, but it must be relatively new. Many of these little tykes have unstable immune systems, so "old" things full of must, dust, and animal hair could be a risky thing to give to them.
Just so anyone wants to make sure this a a real cause--the Candlelighters do have website, and/or CandlelightersVolunteers at gmail.
If you are in Portland, I know they will have some drops throughout the City, but I don't know where. I am running the one at New Seasons (on Cedar Hills Blvd.), it should be up by the beginning of next week.
If you would like to mail your toy, you can send it to: ZW 2840 SW 120th Av. Beaverton OR 97005
**Note: I apologize for my miscommunication in the first post. These are "kids" in the "young" sense, not just little ones, but teens too. The age goes all the way to 16, I believe. So, when I mentioned the reference to some "adult" toys you might have, the bags typically say 13 and Up, so...

 Re: Toys for Cancer Kids
Thank you to those who've sent some toys. The fact you went out of your way to go to the post office and mail the items to me shows so much care. It may not seem like a lot, but all of these efforts rely on volunteers and donors. Thank you so much!!
