Gorgeous figure.

I think most of those "folks" knew what they were getting into, when they dropped the large coin.

I really doubt that, but it's moot by now. Or at least it's safe to say everyone knows the score going forward.

Anyway, a lot of us who have collected RxH for years (at least the folks I talk to) are happy that most figures can be had for $200 or less. I sure have filled gaps in the collection this year. I've also spent a lot more than that for figures in the past. It all evens out, in the long run.

Probably a stupid question but, what does RFSO mean? The only things I can think of for that acronym are filthy...

Wow its crazy to think that there are actual members that have no clue what this means, and this is no dig what so ever on you Ben, just shows how long I have been here. REAL FAN SHIT ONLY was thought up by Ramos who used to work as the right hand man at Super7 a few years ago. He has his own deal now, check it out :http://www.realfanshitonly.com/rfso/

Remember when we had that ebay and YJA list of who was who so we would give each other a shout before bidding on each others auctions.

Sorry Jeff, I wish I had at least 1 figure I could point out that Mori painted. But it seems that every time I think I know I find out I'm wrong.

And this is why ST rules.

Couldn't agree more!
So what was the verdict on his first US visit:

He had a blast, and all signs point to a repeat visit next year.

Actually we all had a blast! Late nite mini bar raids were especially dangerous! I told Scott to lay off the Bacardi Breezers, butt there's no controlling some party animals!

Is this done by Mori in 05? A one-off though?

There has a been quite a bit of hyperbole in this thread, as you can tell Scott is pretty excited about his pet project, but I think there are a few things that should be cleared up.

Quote:
In the end, my hope is to produce more amazing toys for my personal collection while helping to rejuvenate the brand for long time collectors like myself.

While "Rejuvenating the brand" is a pretty strong aspiration for a single release of 3 figures that is happening in a year that Mori has released literally hundred of of figures, Scott obviously wanted to do a release that would appeal to what he likes about the older releases. The brand overall is doing fine, and Mori is doing a fine job of releasing a wide variety of figures at various price points. Something for everyone if you will.

Quote:
This is why, over beers two weeks ago, I agreed to pay extra to have a few of the "old style" figures made in the coming months. The plan is to release a small handful of figures in the US and a couple for friends and family of Shinto Gangu, similar to the Cupcake Mutant Head's release pattern.

The older style free-spay will indeed cost a little more, but Mori will be eating that cost and rest assured the figures will offered at the same reasonable price that have always been associated with Real x Head figures.

Quote:
This is why Jason and I went out of our way to bring Mori to San Diego this year; the first time Mori had set foot on the mainland U.S..

Now that this subject has been broached, Mori, Ayako and I had the most AMAZING time this past year in San Diego. I wanted to emphasize that Mori's first trip to the states was a concerted effort by many fine folks and we want to make sure that credit gets paid where credit is due.

First off, Jason "Mr. Humble" Humblias. I know you wanted to remain behind the scenes but now that Scott has outed you I want to make sure you get the heartfelt thanks that is your due. Jason in addition to giving up a substantial whack of F.F. miles for Mori's flight to and from Japan, was also was the consummate host. He rented a van, picked us up at LAX and gave us a memorable guided tour down the coast (including a stop at Randy's Donuts). He also took a lot of time to accompany Mori and Ayako around the con and introduced us to Geoff Darrow (awesome). Without him it truly wouldn't have been possible. Thank you again Jason.

The other is Matt Doughty and the rest of the Onell crew. They "donated" half of their booth so we would have a place at the con (!!). On top of that he also provided everyone with passes to the con (including Scott and Jason) His generosity really knows no bounds. Again without his and Jesse's help the trip would never have been possible. Now go buy some Glyos & Callgrim figures to show your gratitude.

Additionally we would like to thank everyone who crashed skullbrain to buy the Cupcake release that paid for our hotel room in San Diego. And we must thank all the GFS crew who made everything such a joyful success, the "Masters": PaulKaiju, L'amour Supreme & Matt Walker, the MISHKA crew, the Monstre Hero crew, and Mr. Suckadelic.

But most of all Mori wants to thank you guys - all the fans who came by. Connell - the eternal fanboy who is an inspiration to all, Monkey & Sapps, and everybody else who came by time again to hang out. Also thanks to the Kaiju Big Battel crew for the behind the scenes glimpse, Joe for putting together the Fiends night, Luke & Amy of Lulubell, Paul from Ultrapop, Kirby & Whitney from Rotofugi, and Bryan from Super7.

We really hope we get the opportunity to do it again in 2010!

Don I am touched by your generosity and humbled to even be mentioned in the same company as the people on your thank you list. I would like to be one to give a shout out to you for your part in one of the best SDCC I have yet to attend. Hanging out with all of you at the O'nell booth was a major thrill for me and I can't wait till next July. Thank you!

Sorry. Had a question which was more appropriately addressed as a PM.
