My friend scored a copy early.

It's amazing!

I was shocked that there were over 60,000 people playing online Saturday.

My friend did too and got banned, hahahahaha! I was going to get my box modded this weekend and my buddy was like "they've been banning a lot I'd hold off" next day my other friend got hit.

I work at a store that carries games, I always wanna buy shit early but then I realize I might get shit from Microsoft for playing early so I just wait.

Been thinking of getting this or the new Ratchet and Clank game since I have unspent birthday money. I'm heavily leaning to this one...

Box mods allow what? Play games from any region? Backup games?
Curious as to why people are getting banned.

Maybe in 2010 I'll break down and get a 360 or PS3.

You can play bootlegs/burns. "Backups" are the safe term, but I don't know 1 person with a modded box who bought and made a "backup" vs just downloading a torrent on their computer, burn the thing and play it on thier modded box.

Obviously Miscrosoft is losing money from that (same old CD/mp3 deal, but with $60 products instead) and so they ban you from Live if they find out. Forever. You need to go buy a new XBox or just never want to use Live again. It won't let the modded system have a Live account. It seems more like a "warning" to everyone else that they're serious about it vs. a rightful punishment. You can't even say "let me pay you X amount of dollars for a fine, mod it back to the original firmware and keep going." You need a whole new system (again, more money for them, unless somethings changed now.)

I was gonna have mine done because there are a bunch of games I wanna try but only few I'd own. Why not rent? Because it's $10 to rent, crazy! If there's a demo, I'm fine with a demo, but not all games offer that.

I'm fine not modding mine since I DO buy the few games I enjoy. I don't play on my PC because I just know when I'd want to my wife would be using it (work or personal) or some crap. So I just have the XBox which I enjoy.

I think the latest batch of bans were for XBOX's with updated drive firmwares (this allows you to play backup games).

Shit that I don't want to hear because it has put friends of mine out of work.

Figuring that this isn't a warez site, yeah I went with "backups".



This is why I'm waiting a year or two.
I might pay $20 for a quality game used, but forget $60 retail or $10 rent.

Ideally, I'd borrow it from the library, rip it with blindwrite (or something else) and return it.
But I have no idea if this works.

Gonna have to pick this one up, especially if I can pick it up for only $20. Gamestop has some pretty awesome trade-in's for new released games.

BTW, the new COD is awesome...very fun!

We've been playing split screen Multi here at the firehouse since yesterday. I started playing the single player mode and its pretty wild! Snowmobiles, Shooting civilians in a airport ( WTF?) is as far as Ive made it.

There is also a rumor that Gamestop was selling copies over the weekend.

I noticed there were folks that already had 24 hrs played (as of last night).

The favela level is all kinds of awesome. The Airport bit sucked IMO....totally away from the game core and all a bit James Bond. Apparently it's going to become an optional level due to some complaints.

I haven't stopped playing yet, already beat the single player, most of the spec ops. If anyone out there is on ps3 friend me, stevesleazee is my psn name!

If they had just gone with the PS3 from the beginning this would never have happened.

Is it easy to mod the PS3? Also does the PS network ban or allow bootlegs? Just curious, never heard anything.
