Yeah, I wish it was ALL black honestly. The "fades" really don't do a lot for me, RxH ones too. They never seem gradual enough, it goes from one to the other too abruptly for me.

I like A a lot, honestly trying to find the money but I don't think I can, one day I'll need to track that thing.

Did J paint these or GT or "factory?" I know the GT crew has painted a few of the exclusives they've had, and they're always really cool.

If we do our own paint app we will always make sure to toot our own horn a bunch.

It would've been cool if he painted it like cut-off jean shorts and made his legs black too. Either way, I'm more fond of this guy with every new color.

ugh, women, that's exactly what my wife said. I ended up having to go with the painted blue one instead. I can't believe I'm going to agree but I do think she was right. The paint app is kind of weird and doesn't flow well with the sculpt. Monkeys don't wear jeans! They wear overalls, duh

This is one reason why I went for the fade. There's a bit of an "off" appeal...but damn, that pants comment is kinda funny.

My big issue with the black "fade" is that there seems to be no.....FADE! It's black than BOOM blue, no nice transition. I like the idea, and colors, but the execution is meh to me.

i don't know if it has ever been called a fade version, but i know exactly what you mean.
also, if you click on the picture of it in the gt blog, it blows it up a bit more than the image in the store, and you can see a little more "fade" in there (some of the black towards the bottom is a little more translucent).

and i reckon the addition of the silver breaks the colours up a bit also.

The clear vinyl in the cronic releases is used much more effectively with the paint. Those will probably a little harder to get stateside.

I think a space monkey (or whatever it is) wearing jorts would have been the strongest selling point for me on this thing.
