Although it's not something that maybe requires urgent fixing like split vinyl or a severed limb, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for 'tightening' loose joints?

I've just got hold of a vintage Bullmark Moguness, and his leg is super loose, leaving him a bit unstable in his old age.

Any ideas for a solution, not necessarily permanent?

Why the oversized type on your posts?

I would probably just use museum wax to anchor the figure and leave the joint loose, though you could likely also use the wax right on the joint for a semi-permanent fix (I haven't actually done this), which is probably ideal so the vintage vinyl stays virgin compared to a permanent, "repair".

Yes they do, I got a Matango with the band melted to the neck and it was a I FART A LOT to clean up.

Yup, those are the worst.

I've done this before: wrap around the joint a few times w/ dental floss. It fills the void, remains (relatively) invisible (tuck in the loose ends) & is inert.

There are other types of rubber bands that don't.
Like ones made of silicorn.

I have had success heating up loose joints with a hair dryer, removing the limb, then heating up the vinyl again really hot and squishing the opening about twice as far as you think you should as it does go back to normal more than you would think, and holding it under cold water as fast as possible while holding it in that squished state. Let it sit for about five minutes, sometimes this takes a repeat as well. Then heat the limb and stick it back in, should be a tighter fit. Fixed a few like that actually, never had a problem again and its been well over a year on the ones I have done. It's worth a shot, the chance of damage is minimal just make sure the vinyl is hot enough to squish so you don't lose paint. I have also got vinyl too hot and taken off a layer or two of skin when I touched it.

That might be tough with vintage pieces, though....the vinyl will get a bit brittle and paint cracks easier.

Hmm... don't think I'll be melting my vintage Mogu with a hairdryer anytime soon.
