Scene that just kills the entire movie for you....
So for myself, even though the entire Back to the future 3 movie was a piece of shit, the last scene where Doc and his wife and his two kids fly away in the locomotive...that one scene ruined the entire trilogy for me.

Re: Scene that just kills the entire movie for you....
The entire last half of 28 Days Later with the military. Saw that shit in Day of the Dead and the whole "the military is evil!" message is way cliche', old, boring and pretty narrow minded. YAWN! They even had their own "Bub!"
Also in Revenge of the Sith (which, screw you, I enjoyed mostly well knowing what crap it REALLY was!) at the end when Anakin is about to fight Obi and Anakin shouts "YOU WILL TRY!" kills me. I mean, dude can't act as it is, but somehow that delivery made the rest of his career look like gold. Lucas seriously didn't have ANY other takes?
I'll think of at least 15 more on my way home today so I'll stop here.

The movie AI, when the aliens show up... I feel they should've left young Master Osment at the bottom of the ocean & ended it right there.
Also any scenes that involve Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, or Will Smith.

The rat at the end of The Departed destroyed it for me.
The Simpsons made fun of it right though.

I agree about Back to the Future 3- it's as if Doc suddenly gains magic powers. Plus the choice of actors playing Marty's granparents made me wonder how inbred that family was.

Also, this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCJeR0UebR8 Probably the worst movie I have ever seen in my life, mostly because of this one scene.

The Chinese gang talking to each other in a confrontation with Jack Nicholson in The Departed. There Chinese were so bad it made the moviegoers here burst out laughing... it was meant to be a tense scene too...

I have never seen Armageddon. Wow! That 'animal crackers' scene is painful to watch. Yikes!

I've never heard of this movie you're talking about...it doesn't exist in my world.

I say this about the prequels: They suck but didn't ruin the originals for me and I enjoy wathcing them. I just pretend they're NOT Star Wars but rather just some crappy, dumb SyFy channel movies and I'm ok. Denial is awesome.

Pretending they're something else is ok with me, but I just can't bring myself to watch them after sitting through phantom menace at the theater. So so bad. I will say that if you haven't seen it yet, "Fanboys" was probably one of my favorite movies this year. All I'll say is jar Jar binks....

Re: Scene that just kills the entire movie for you....
Some quick nerdly opinions on some nerdly flicks-
Spider-Man 3: VENOM! I actually didn't mind a lot of what people felt was wrong with this movie, but Venom totally didn't fit and Grace was NOT the right choice for casting. I also know Venom was forced in by the producers, still sucked though.
Watchmen: The changed ending, yeah it mattered that much to me and I won't be "understanding" about it and will be a bitter nerd. There.
Wolverine: OK DISCLAIMER BEFORE I START, YEAH IT SUCKED ANYWAY BUT.....The scene after he kills Agent Zero (you know, the super sniper guy who can shoot super awesome and hit everythign with guns?) where they give Stryker the GUN with the adamantium BULLET (you know, the 2 things that one guy Logan just killed can use without flaw and could have ended the movie right there.) That made it all the worse.
Land of the Dead: OK, again, I thought this movie was horrid anyway but what made it worse? At the end when Big Daddy was walking (lurching?) away and they were gonne kill him (kill the zombie, seems logical) and than the one dude was like "No...let him go...he's just looking for somehwere to go." What? Really? Yeah, he's looking for somewhere to go...AND EAT HUMAN BEINGS! What, did he think that the zombie WOULDN'T eat him because they share something now or something? I laughed and screamed at the same time. Always kill the zombie. Always.

That just was not Venom! I loved this character as a kid, and in theory he should make an amazing movie villain. What we got was a tacked on, snivelling little weasel of a character (and for some reason Eddie Brock had filed off pointy teeth?). Did they do ANY research for that movie?

Re: Scene that just kills the entire movie for you....
i agree 100% with the venom thing. that was not the venom that should have been
for me it was the trailer for wolverine, because as soon as i saw what was suppose to be deadpool, i died inside and had no intention of seeing a minute of this horror story.

Hahahaha yeah, well I only paid $2 and my little brother was freaking to see it. I just wish Logan killed more people, like around 200 more. They really wussed him up. Can you believe they're making Lobo now? AND IT'S PG13 SO FAR!

The Abyss
All the way through.
"Why didn't we need to decompress?"
"They must have done something to us."
makes me cringe
It's so hard. I never make it past previews. Especially "Making of" parts with people talking about being in the movie. I erase it's existence from then on.

Re: Scene that just kills the entire movie for you....
This thread made me think of my first exposure to movie ruinage...though I still am quite fond of the movies...
Seeing Superman spinning the Earth backwards at the end of the first movie and everything going back into place...lame.
Followed by Superman II where Supes gives Lois the super-amnesia-kiss at the end...super lame.
Superman Returns...Superman's son is revealed to be the kid with the inhaler...crazy lame.
Why can't anyone make a good Superman movie?

I'll say the scen that ruined Superman Returns for me was the one from the opening credits through the end credits I hope in my life time someone will make the "Dark Knight" of Superman movies. Fuck, just let Nolan do it, he seems to have lost steam on Bats so move on to Supes. I'd trust it.

I wanted so much to like Returns...and it's production values are amazing...plus the casting of Routh as Superman I thought was perfect. The plane scene is pretty awesome too. But the film has sooo many problems...Bosworth Lois, the sick kid, not enough action, Lex Luthor again... I'm just happy we didn't get the weird Tim Burton version with Nicholas Cage as Superman. Doesn't look like we'll be getting any Superman movies any time soon

Say anything. The part where john cusack is holding that boombox outside the girls window. His character goes from nervous goofy weirdo to instant creep.
I also think Michael Cera has based his whole personality/acting career on Lloyd Dobler.
