Yo! Dude/Dudette's in the know/in Japan/whatever:
What's with this? Bemon Book? Mag featuring Bemon? Can someone hook it up, at least info wise so I can try to get one? Looks fun.

Weird. I wonder why a motorcycle mag has a DETAILED Bemon piece? Regardless, it is really cool. I wonder if this is from the September issue?

Post Re: Bemon Book?
the bemon pictorial is about 8pages long..no words (definitely not a book,,but a cool piece nonetheless,,especially if you are a bemon fiend)

3 spreads of the pollution monster (with never seen before back shots of some of the OGs) & 1 spread of the 2heads..

the rest of the mag is all pictures of cars i remember..

£10 is not a bad price considering it was 1000yen retail in japan..and there are not many places to get it in japan as is..so,,that price is to be expected for being imported & available online..

I won't take crap for "dudette" we should all start using it more. The rest were more used in an ironic fashion. "Fun" = "BADASSSSS BROSEPH!"

Post Re: Bemon Book?
I was watching the last episode of Charlie Bormans "By Any Means 2" from Sydney to Japan on BBC2 when all of a sudden the Bemon book appears and its hotrod central. He meets the guy who does the mag and goes to some hotrod garages. It shows the issue featuring the Bemons but sadly no Bemons make it on tv.

The hotrods are amazing. One has a Cryptic Slaughter logo on it.CxS.What is it with the japanese fascination with mid 80s Venice HxC punk.I remember somebody on Toypunks was on about Excel too.I guess we were fascinated by Gism, Lipcream and Chicken Bowels.

Did anyone else watch it?

I always thought that was funny too, the BXH guys and those around them are way into Excel, did you see the Excel x BXH shirt? There are a bunch of 80's hardcore and crossover influenced shirts in the shop.

Post Re: Bemon Book?
I used to trade with Dan Clements the Excel singer back in 85.I had all their original demos t-shirts etc.I was just curious why BXH were so into it? I know in the Toypunks dvd the founder said Excel really changed his life.Maybe they were trading with him at the same time too.I guess they impacted on him like Minor Threat did on me.

Post Re: Bemon Book?
I finally got this in the mail today.

The publication is a lot smaller than I thought with a finished size of aprox. 6" X 8".

There are 5 double spreads of front/back Bemon goodness though. And although the photography could be better in most cases, it was great to see both front and back shots of so many (80 Bemons in total).

the bemon part is just a scan of the posters from the 1st 4 runs. I think SB could come up with that pretty easily. PASS!

BTW - anyone else think it is kinda weird for a smog monster toy to show up in a magazine that glorifies cars?

With the book you also get pictures of the backs though too. This alone makes it worthwhile to me.

I think this is fantastic, if a little random. Can't wait for mine to arrive in the mail (I don't own any of the old posters). Come to me, pictures of lord bemon, come...
