Yeah, but the thing was, as Rhodes in Vietnam when Stark first meets him, RDJ as a black man was PERFECT. I was all ready after seeing Tropic Thunder for a Double Downey Jr billing He was better than Terrence Howard.

I'm pretty fucking excited for this. Loved the first one, largely because of the great sense of humor RDJ brought to the role (as opposed to the weepy emo-centric Spider-Man films and the po-faced X-Men crap). I agree ScarJo seems a little, er, wimpy to play BW, but we'll see. And Cheadle is an infinitely better actor than Terrence Howard (IMO, of course).

Ehhh, don't be so hard on Spider-Man and X-Men. The first two films of both of those franchises were excellent. X-Men II I think was one of the best superhero films ever. But the third films for both were crapola.

But outside of my minor reservations, this looks to be great. I agree about Robert Downey Jr. He actually puts a nice sardonic spin on everything and I was afraid that somehow Iron Man would end up bogged down in that super-serious "world's burden on my shoulder" nonsense. Happily that's no here.
