I'm already annoyed by Depp's character just from watching the trailer.

then skip the movie.

the trailer i saw in the theater looked incredible.

first time in a while i've liked the whole cast. i love anne hathaway so it should be great to see her paired with johnny depp.

i imagine the same people who hated the wonka movie will hate this as well. best to avoid it from the get go.

Looks like fun just like that Titans remake.

Depp's makeup is disorienting to me in some weird way.
Not sure if that's the intended effect.
Then again so of the camera angles and character treatment (Bonham Carter) is also disorienting.

Didn't recognize Crispen Psycho Glover as the Knave of Hearts.

my only issue.... the look of the hatter. my impression of the character was always that he was a lunatic, not that he looked like one. beyond that... stoked!

I will. I cant' stomach his crap anymore. Contrived. Annoying. Things like "fun" even on a base, dumb level never surface for me when I watch anything the guy's directed since Mars Attacks. I just cringe. I'm generally not such an elitist douche, and maybe it's because I was such a big fan for so long, but ugh, I'm done with Burton. I love the cast too but it really doesn't mean anything to me if the writing/directing are horrid.

There's my cranky rant about this from me hahaha so get on "lovers" and get all into it.

I can appreciate your viewpoint dude. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I can't stand most of the movies that people here fawn over.
I am the guy who hates most Hollywood actors. John Revolta, Tom Cranks, the list goes on and on.

I know the cring feeling. I get it from some movies too. This one, however, is the perfect fit for tim Burton to work on. Love him or hate him, he's made some really fantastic movies over the years.

I know where you're coming from. But I think it just dawned on me that Depp is making me cringe just as much, if not more, than Burton. I think the last time I saw Depp and liked him was in Secret Window.

Burton ended it all with Big Fish.
