Thanks kirk, just one colorway planned so far. We are stepping things up a bit on this one tho with an all metallic paint ap and maybe some shading effect as well. I'm waiting to see the painted sample to decide if I'll do the shading on the final version tho. The goal is to make it look like a diecast metal robot but in vinyl.

Price is still up in the air but we are working on a price that includes worldwide shipping.

wow, sounds awesome. can hardly wait to see the paint app....

I should have said "planned for now". We havn't decided what the next colorway would be after this initial release. I didn't want to get ahead of myself. Maybe this will put that smile back up...

A Diecast Metal colorway sounds awesome. By the way Robert what's that beasty in your avatar, a new creature you're working on?

Edit; Working on something very close to it. My Avatar has the creature with a burlap hood to keep the face secret for now. Sadly we can only fund one toy project at a time being a completely indie type outfit so for now he is just a 2d concept and a partially finished wax sculpture.

Some unpainted T1 samples, all vinyl, it need a liiiiiittle more tweaking but its 99.9% there. The GID samples are different than the CRZ's GID vinyl as you can see in some shots. This material glows very very close to Japanese vinyl. I was really surprised (that's why I was sooo anxious to figure out how to take photos of em in the dark). Next update will showcase painted samples..

Yep, It was a single test shot to sample the material. The thing was, since the mold yielded castings with a matte finish when filled with clear vinyl the toy ends up looking like frosted glass. I had hoped it was going to be clearer so I can add innards.

The four gid CRZ's = 1 (yellow eye) pre production test, 1 corrected pre prod test, 1 case sample, the forth is my son's. I just wanted an interesting back ground. :)

Post Re: Panzer Ace updates
I just got the painted samples from the factory this morning. I know it's my toy but really, I was so stunned at how well it turned out I felt light headed. We set out to capture a Chogokin look and finish and man, I do believe we did it! We got two versions to review, a full metallic paint ver, and full metallic with shading ver. I thought it was going to be easy to decide which one to go with but seeing it in person,,I can't decide.. Anyway I was busy cleaning up the ole homestead for x-mass guests so I didn't have time to snap some shots. Also waiting for some photog equipment to arrive so please stand by. I want to make sure I can capture the subtle shading effects.

If you go with the metallic/shaded are there any chances for a Combat-R 0 in a similar style?

Truth be told I really had doubts about the shading. The factory guys really out did themselves. It really puts the argument
of Chinese vs. Japanese vinyl to rest for me. I can confidently say (and I know I sound bias) that the folks who pick this up
will not be disappointed.

Oh yeah, after seeing how the PA turned out. All future robots from this line will be done in "FauxGokin" style with the exception
of GID "Plutonium" color schemes.

Just updated the Atomic Mushroom website. Here are some pics of the pre-production vinyl samples all painted up. You can also hit the links below to see the coverage from TRE, TBS, and of course our own Atomic Mushroom website. The pics doesn't capture all of the subtle shading effects. Nothing beats holding this thing in your hands.

I love the paint app. I would have liked his grill to be a solid metal like his mohawk, but it's great all the way around. Any chance that Combat R getting a new coloring job as well?

I definitely think so. I wasn't planning on it but after seeing the finished Panzer Ace all in metallic paint with the shading effect there was no way CRZ would retire without having a "FauxGokin" color scheme.

Good to hear... I've always liked your mecha designs, but haven't gotten around to picking one up for some reason. If a CR-Z comes out in the newer paint style, I'll be all over it tho. The new one looks phenomenal.
