I'm guessing that's what it is. I ran into my postman and asked, he said lots of back upped mail at JFK. I got all excited seeing people here get theirs and mine shipped last thursday. Now as of today it hasn't updated on EMS in five days. Still just dispatched from Outward exchange. What puzzles me is don't they scan everything as it comes in? I sincerely doubt a plane from Japan has been buzzing around JFK for 5 days. I could understand if it said "arrival at inward exchange" and sat for days waiting customs, or was backed up from holidays, weather etc, but not even an arrival. Hmmmm.

Fuck you Celga for making a 10000¥ item cost $150, charging an extra 12% on the exchange rate, extra costs on shipping within Japan, plus your fees.

Uh. Celga is pretty clear on how they calculate their fees... it's all laid out in the FAQ. It doesn't get a lot cheaper no matter who you use.

Worst thing about Celga is that their exchange rate is fucked. They had it at 83 when it was really 87, now they have it at 85 and it's 91. Maybe the exchange rate has to hold for so long before they update it...maybe they're just trying to milk a few more bucks... hell if I know.

um, they need to do transactions for you and that costs money. it's the same with any currency exchange situation. the rate you see online is the interbank rate, unless you're looking specifically at a currency exchange company's website, and consumers don't see those rates.
banks and companies pay fees to convert your money. it would make no sense for companies to eat those costs, they'd be bankrupt in no time.

The only folks making a "few more bucks" are the banks who pocket the difference between interbank versus bank-to-consumer.

I get charged monthly instead of the 1 lump sum of yearly, its the same price though. Its really only 3.50 a month plus fees but I dont care if its a buck. I dont use celga anymore as their service has gone down hill. Not to mention the exchange rate is so high I cant remember the last time I bought anything on YJA.
