Post Robot masks update- 09/23 Masks available if you want them
New Updated Info:

This is an older thread. Please read below if you're interested in the gallery the masks were initially in. I finally got the masks back from the gallery and thought some of you might have been interested in them. If you contacted me in the past about then please remind me about that and you will get priority. For those of you who haven't seen these before, let me know what you think. Thanks for checking out my work.

Here's a link to the available masks on my flickr, I'll update it as masks are pending or sold. The masks are pretty affordable, I have a price sheet available. I'm also very open to art and toy trades.

Original post starts here:
I made and painted a bunch of robot masks for a gallery show. A bunch of friends and I from college do a yearly gallery to catch up and hang out. The theme this year is vintage and handmade toys(think toymakers workshop) so I thought some of you might be interested. The opening is New Years Eve, but will be open for a month. A flyer is posted up at the bottom if you want in on the details. If you really want to go let me know and I'll put you on the guest list.
-david
(I have a bunch of extra masks if anyone wants me to paint one up for them, or wants a blank to paint up themself)

Neat design with the clear bubble so you can put whatever you want in the head. These are vacuum molded? You DIY?

Post Re: Robot masks
Thanks everyone. These are vac formed masks. Greasebat(Jeff) hooked me up with his contact for making these after I saw the masks he had made. I sculpted the mask then had them cast.

I'll post some more individual pics later, maybe some being worn. The "rivets" on the band between the head and dome are where the eye holes would be cut.

Post Re: Robot masks- updated with gallery pics at the bottom(1/02)
Thanks everyone for the kind words. The gallery is up until January 31 in SF. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Below are some pics for the out-of-towners, most aren't the best quality sorry.
I was a little disappointed that the gallery was mostly paintings, but the paintings kick ass so I can't really be down on my friends.

I think I like gumball best too. How in the H did you have the time to paint all those? Looks excellent.

The gumball one was one of my first ideas and last to execute...and it is sold for sure.

As far as time to paint, I painted about 1 a day for 2 weeks.

An update on Robot Masks. I should be getting the original set back from the gallery very soon, if you were interested in any of them let me know. I know a few of you had asked before and you will get priority.

Now on to a new set. I'm in a group gallery this weekend in LA(April 10th). It has a "Science Faire" theme and should be really cool. I did these masks and a sculpt for the show, the sculpt is over here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=34630
