I love that Gezora, KJB. does he glow?

Fuck yeah. Actually REALLY brightly. It's a great figure (thanx S7).

You should see our living room when we turn of the lights to watch a movie - the amount of glow stuff is ridiculous.

BTW, in case I've forgotten to mention it, it was great hanging out with you & Missy (and El Word, Filmy, Roger, Creaturion, Loco, Pogue et al) at the Nerdquake. Janet's all pumped to go next year already.

The man asked for naked shots and no one gave him any. Help the poor man out.

Hello folks!

Well toy-wise there's nothing in my haul that you haven't seen before and it's definitely dwarfed by everyone else's but I wanted to introduce myself and come out of my lurker cave. Also, I was happy to see Rhinomilk's original Geof Darrow and wanted to show mine.

I've been going to the con as a comic and movie fan since 2001. It's been cool to see the collectible toy section grow into it's own niche of the show. I've been a long time reader of another message board which is how I found out about the Pushead event. My hope was to score a hand-painted Companion and I was willing to blow an entire day at the con waiting for it. Witnessing the controlled mayhem of last year's toy events, I thought it'd be best to stake my place in line early right as the showfloor opened. Unfortunately I didn't know about the 64+ VIP passes, and while I was sixth or seventh in line, I was actually 65th. My dreams of a unique Companion were squashed. "Are you from Skullbrain?" someone asked. "Skuh-what?" I whimpered to myself. I came back in the day anyway hoping to maybe get a Pushead signature.

Later...

It was another couple hours of waiting in line, but I met some of the coolest people I've ever met at the show! These Skullbrainers and the non-VIP folks I was kicking it with in the back of the line were diverse, friendly, and forthcoming with info (Celga, eh?). It was enlightening to say the least. The vibe of the people was much closer to my personal tastes as opposed to what I was seeing and reading at the other messageboard. For me it was like stumbling into the coolest bar or club you never knew existed.

As I finally got to the booth, lo and behold there was a bronze Companion for cheaper than I had seen on ebay! I did, however, make the mistake of asking how much the customs went for, but the 750 dollars for the bronze was easy to part with knowing that the money was going straight to Mr. Head himself. Sure, it wasn't one of the 11 handpainted pieces, but a great 12th prize.

When I got home and unloaded everything, I discovered what all of you probably found out a long time ago - 2 Secret Base toys on a shelf look ridiculous. The only way to un-ridiculilfy the situation is to buy more. Fuck. I've placed a bunch of orders in the past week and am looking to triple my collection in a few days!

Sorry for the massive post but I'm truly happy to find out about the board and all these wonderful hunks of plastic!

I don't think ANY close up can really do any Geoff Darrow drawings justice... he crams in more detail better than almost any line illustrator I can think of.

Good scores. I seriously felt bad everytime I told people that certain things were not available after they had waited in line for hours.

welcome to the boards meczilla!

yeah, my main goals of the con was to get any handpainted pushead figure, a darrow piece (i knew he does not release original pencils, but these pieces are the best we're gonna get - so i'm real happy w/ mine-wish i had seen that rhino one) and a whilce portacio sketch of archangel. I got 2 of the 3... I think I could have been like 5th in the kawsxpushead line, but I was not willing to camp til 4 since I was w/ my bro and it was our first SDCC (now i'm losing sleep seeing pics of them and finding out they gave out tickets).

I would have been willing to pay 750 for the bronze had i not blown like 1K the first 1/2 hour of preview night... i think it was a bargain. Nice to see another Geoff Darrow fan. BTW, did u see Borat & the preview of his movie? it was hilarious....

Yes, the Borat presentation was hardcore. Seeing the expanse of Hall H crying, cringing, laughing, and hollering was a highlight of the show for me. I seriously don't know how they're going to try and market the film to middle America. I'll be first in line when it opens in November though! I LIKE!
