My guilty secret. I find it hard to walk by that place without being tempted to buy some Bandai blind box toys or whatever looks weird or fun. Thing is, you come out of there smelling like sweet crepes even if you don't eat any. :-)

Have you been to their restaurant on Geary? I haven't actually eaten there but have had their food delivered countless times. Good Robatayaki, Okonomiyaki, and some delicious deep fried items.

awah... I guess maybe all the nice dusty gems I found there 10 years ago when I lived in NorCal are probably all gone by now :P Didn't it also used to have a different name (and maybe different owner?)

I'm going to Aziza tonight with a group of friends. I've never been there and everybody says it's awesome. Anybody got any recommendations?

I bought something there about a month ago but mostly to support. jesse the owner is very nice but I don't think is up to date on what the current value is of what he sells. He once told me he was the original owner. His wife also owns tutti frutti on irving.

Cupcake fan? Check out That Takes The Cake on Union between Steiner and Fillmore.
Their red velvet cupcake is probably my favorite from all the others I've tried.
And for the alcohol lovers, they have cocktail cupcakes on Saturdays.

Kinda true but if you go don't order from the menu, just ask them to bring you food and you will get some great stuff.

The secret of the best food at so many Asian restaurants!

That's definitely the thing to do at Ebisu Sushi on 9th Avenue in the Inner Sunset, a great place to visit on a weekend afternoon after a walk in the park.

Sit at the bar, not at a table. All of the chefs are good but the master is Suzuki-san, the older gentleman who works at the station closest to the kitchen. Wait for a seat at his station if he's working. Ask him "what's good today?" and you'll get a great meal. Skip the novelty sushi rolls and all that. Ordering those things tells the chef that you're clueless about good sushi. :-)

Post Re: (Recommended) Places To Eat List
so I had the chance to check out a few places while out there this past week.

Home was really good. Pot roast was so tender you could use a fork to cut it. Raves also given for the fried chicken and meatloaf.

Ike's lives up to the hype. Jerie's big meat sandwich was pretty incredible.

House of Prime Rib. Ah...I will remember this evening fondly for a while. From the moment we saw Slick Willy sitting in the booth behind us until we left barely able to stand from a meat coma, the entire experience was pretty fantastic. Order the baked potato.

Your fair city was really great this weekend. Thanks to everyone we were able to see/hang out with. Maybe one day we'll live there...

Slick Willy is Omnipresent...! HoPR is classic. But sadly, they now only give you one extra thin slice of meat whereas before, you could eat until really sick....

The owner almost kicked me out on our last outing there because I was drunk and throwing f-bombs at everyone at my table (in what I thought was a funny manner, but in retrospect, probably not that funny....)

He truly is. I've seen him at so many restaurants, I believe he dines out for every meal...but the most surprising was the time he got on the #1 California bus I was riding :?

Ok new additions for the carnivores and vegans alike.

-Little Chihuahua has the new burrito of the year: Fried plantain and black bean burrito. It's my current obsession. They also have some stellar salsa at their bar. I like the chipotle but all my friends seem to like roasted tomato.
http://thelittlechihuahua.com/

-Also took a day trip to Yountville and had a sandwich at Bouchon. Continuing my stalking of chef thomas keller. I think as most of you know this is where he bakes everything for his restaurants in the area.
Image

I had the mushroom french dip
Image

Heather had the Tuna nicoise on a palladin roll and a butternut squash bisque, which I tried, which was A+
Image
seems unsure about the tuna right?
Image

oh and a huge nutty buddy

I'm leaving this one at home next time.

Since I've moved up to San Francisco, always on the hunt for a good place to eat.
Have been here and there, good and bad.
Thought I'd start a thread to get more recommendations.

I'll start off with a new sandwich shop my friend recommended in North Beach, Giordano Bros.
http://www.giordanobros.com/
Traditional Pittsburgh style all-in-one sandwiches.
Basically your choice of meat topped w/ fries and slaw.
And she also recommended to top it off w/ a fried egg.
I got myself a pastrami and have to say, it's delicious.
Would definitely recommend this place.
I know I'll be going back quite often.

And what's a food post w/o pics!

Edit: Damn that looks good.

And seems like Giordanno's is petitioning to open up a second location on Union.

Thanks for the Little Chihuaha recommendation. That sounds more Yucataneco than Norteño, or maybe I should say it sounds Californio. Sounds good.

If you're seriously stalking TK he lives in the house just behind FL. Or at least he did before he got married.
