 Wondering...Is this a fair trade?
Am I foolish to think that I can get an Original fake kawsXpus for my MIB blue GID companion?

I think it is close but you might just be better off selling the blue and buying a green.
Loads of people paid $250-300 for the green so they still think it is worth that price. Meanwile the green are selling for around $200 (fees and shipping included) on YJA. A lot of people were under the impression that these were more limited than they probably are. My guess it they will level out around $225 over the next few months.

The only reason I think it's unreasonable is because the Green Pushead is SO MUCH COOLER than the GID Blue 5YL - I just think you'll have a tough time finding someone who a) wants a Blue 5YL and b) has an extra Green Pushead.

I wouldnt trade it. And I think it will be more than 225 knewnan.
True I paid 300 because I acted to fast but I think its gonna settle a little higher than 225.
Not everyone who collects KAWS knows or deals with YJA as much as you. You have to rememebr this.

I have bought two at an average of 17,000 yen (about $185 with fees) I hope to pick another up for someone tomorrow.
To much Kaws on the market right now, prices are headed south.

I really wonder if the whole KAWS Fake thing is going to dilute the brand.
Say for example the green fake had a run of 1000 or 750; Who knows.
And people considered it killer over the other colorways.

I thought the rumor was it was only 500. Seems if any 'dilution' takes place it will be in Japan, where the Original Fake store has put out about 3 editions (the Bearbrick, the twins, the green pushead) in about 3 months. I imagine they will still stay relatively hot here in the states, however. And for a 'global' market, the numbers are still relatively low.

Well atleast I learned to slow down and not worry anymore if I can get anything like before.
Up untill now I panicked when KAWS dropped something. Now I definitly know to NOT buy the first price listed anymore.
If this companion gets releaed and I SERIOUSLY hope it does I will definitly not jump on the frst price listed.
Thanks knewnan for teaching me this lesson !

I learned that lesson quite well...the seller I bought my OF from on the first day now has them listed for $50 less.
Live and learn I suppose, but I still thought the price I paid was worth it.
I'll wait it out a bit in the future though.

if my only kaws was the OG fake one, I would trade it in a second for the blue GID.

I am thinking about selling of lots of my Kaws. I might just keep the Bronze Green and hand painted KvP and the wood bearbrick. I really believe price will drop if he keeps releasing this much product. I think it is over 2000 toys in a few months: Bearbricks, Twins, KVP green.
At this rate OF will release more Kaws toys in it’s first 18 months than all of the previous Kaws releases combined. I think the days of the Kaws completist are over. Its not about the coolness of toys just the limited number of $$ chasing them.

I have to agree with you on this even though it saddens me. If this keeps up OF will kill the appeal of KAWS toys.
Thank god all that ever interested me was the companions. Thats about all I will ever collect from him.

i personally think his old stuff will be sought after as long as he pumps out a few hits in the middle of a few misses...
i could be wrong... but some of his stuff is so good i don't see how they could not be in future collectors minds.

I don't disagree with that at all but that does not mean the prices will go down in the short term. I have been thinking of selling the black, gid, and silver KvP since SDCC. This will just make me get off my ass and do it. (I already sold my clear chum this week).

true. for the amount you get for a GID and a black one nowadays though... i think you'd be better off using them for customs & take pictures of them & post it so i can see

even hell lot of misses right ahead -
around 20 to 30 tees and hoodies will be released the next couple moths. besides 2 cool variants of the known cat face tee the rest is just fxxxing ordinary.
the hype is over -
the sellout has just begun.
...but the love for his toys, tiles & some tees is still there!

well he just opened a store up...he kinda needs to pay the bills and all. So he's sold out cause he's...well selling out??? I disagree.
it's not like he's actually released that much this year, theres the KxP sculpt and the TWINS and what looks to be the new 5YL to come in the next couple months...i think we'll be hard pressed to see another piece from him this year after this companion comes out.
So thats three different pieces in a year...as apposed to 2k5 where he released what? Green GID?? (cant rem if that was 05) BLUE Gid, Bronze KxP. Wood 400%...
