I don't think it will leave. That article in the UT on Sunday just read as a fluff piece to me, and then other news groups ran with it. And on the off chance that the con does leave, I hear that the people that run the NYCC are ready to jump in and take over. From what I hear they do a pretty good job in New York. Retailers are getting fed up with the SDCC policies too, so it would be interesting to see where they go if there is a split.

i'd be down for vegas... although i can't stand the place if i'm there longer than 2 days

Just move the freaking movie panels across the street to Petco Park and the problem would be solved.

sounds like a good plan... at least make twilight separate. maybe lure everyone there and lock them in.

Can't imagine not having a Comic Con in San Diego. I have been going to SDCC since 1988 when it was at the Community Concourse. I remember it moving to the Convention Center, and thinking it would never fill it.
Now it has expanded , I think twice, and it now has a less personal feel. I used to spend all 4 days hanging out, now I can usually only hang for 2. The crowds start wearing me down. Although the last 2 years were pretty cool for me.

I agree , move the movie panels to a different location. It has changed the con into a movie promo weekend.
