I'm not questioning you, but this answer seems too easy. S-K began producing Marine Kong in 2007, but for some reason the licensing arrangement fell through and they had to stop production. For that reason, the very few Marine Kongs that have been sold up until now were sold without a name printed on their header. This is based on what I have pieced together.

Maybe this works differently in Japan, but I can't see how it is totally 'ok' for them to sell this simply because they don't call it "Marine Kong." I think they are just flying under the radar. It is also interesting that S-K did not begin to sell these again until the original owner's son took over the business.

I haven't been paying too close attention, but just outta curiosity, what show/comic/whatever does Marine Kong come from???

It was called "Kaiju Marine Kong." This was not a show that I had heard of before seeing the toy.

Those are some incredible one-offs, hiro. I love the MK on the left in the 3rd photo- looks like the same holographic glitter used on Skull Head Butt's Howaton.

Haha...wow, Daniel, that looks terrible! :P

Thanks for posting that, though.

It always throws me off about a lot of these designer vinyl producers: most of their offerings are usually original or unlicensed patchi characters...but sometimes they sneak in some licensed-but-obscure characters to keep us guessing!

Just got my Lucky Bag in. I received a beautifully painted clear Khappa. Not minimally painted as Daniel received, but bluish green with purple, gold and silver highlights. Red eyes. Also got a gold mini chiwos but I don't know what to do with it? Try to get some pics up tonight. The GID Maddalla SP is insane,

Whoa. Both those are beauties.
I wouldn't mind the wait from SK if I received those two.

Yeah I'm kind of Shikaruna Khappa crazy at the moment (have a purple one coming also). I'm really happy with getting this guy. I know Marine Kong's are tops on everyones list, but I was hoping for a one off Khappa.

The GID Maddalla has that crude sort of sculpt but is very vibrantly colored and detailed at the same time. I think it came out better than the original concept for the SP1. I've seen pics of the regular GID version and that (also very nice) came out much more like the original pic than this. Haven't seen a pic of the SP2 yet.

What do I do with this gold mini chiwos?

No reply from SK yet so no EMS.
Guess I'll try emailing them yet again.
I'm sure I'm at the bottom of their list of orders though.

Thanks jcat. You take really nice SK pics btw. I'm sure you'll see some GID Maddalla pop up on certain spots as it looks like they shipped.

I uploaded better resolution versions to my flickr (at least they look that way- I think photobucket compresses photos). Let me know if you can't make them larger on flickr to view better detail. I fixed my flickr settings so anyone can make the pics bigger.

Pretty tall....A little over 11 inches in height. I'm amazed I got him into my crowded detolfs but creative shifting helped. My concerns of stability that I mentioned earlier are gone. He's not a shelf diver.
