 Custom Mini Smogon
It wasn't until I decided to paint one of these that I realized just how much is going on with this figure. There really is an incredible amount of detail on this sculpt - especially when you consider its size. The bashed car parts, the the missing wheels and tires, the missing headlight on his right foot, the crack in the windshield, the door handles on the truck...all super-tiny elements that work together to make this one charming little monster. This one was really fun and, hopefully, I did this great sculpt the justice it deserves. Hope you like it, thanks for looking. *NOTE: Sorry for posting so many custom threads. Might be time to start one big one.

 Re: Custom Mini Smogon
I told you already, but I love this. I wish it was a pocket smogun, then I'd have to own it.

Nice to see the m26m-style spotlight shine on some details I overlooked. Make your ultra-thread, you deserve it; it's handy being able to revisit earlier stuff too.

 Re: Custom Mini Smogon
You really did bring out the details of the sculpt unlike any custom I've seen! Amazing what a rub-type treatment can do. I love that you painted all the lights and windshields and that the tires look like Hot Wheels. Awesome!

 Re: Custom Mini Smogon
I like the rusty red rub and the spotty black , like on the feet.

 Re: Custom Mini Smogon
I love it. I've never been a huge Smogun fan, but I think that's because I never really realized what it was supposed to be... it works so well in muted, 'realistic' colors!

i think he's gotta be joking.. Right?
this is really great! the rub treatment works nicely as does your color palette.
also, i agree with animator. you should totally paint up a pocket smog!

 Re: Custom Mini Smogon
Thanks, everybody. Glad you like this. I hear you on the pocket-guy and I'd love to paint one. The pockets take everything I love about this sculpt and then crank the cuteness up to a whole new level. I'll keep my eyes open for one to paint.

That weathering job is right on. Real cool how it looks kinda like porcelain.

Good work, it looks like it rose out of a junk yard dirty with the clean colors popping out

redhanded wrote: Good work, it looks like it rose out of a junk yard dirty with the clean colors popping out Thanks man, that's exactly what I was going for! I tried to get the clean, orange vinyl to work with the overall "dirtiness" I imagine when I think about this kind of monster. I'm glad you think it works.
